Hello people,

I (SuperSoca) am very happy to announce the creation of an Organized Battle (OB) for Company of Heroes: Eastern Fronts that is being arranged by the CoH Brazilian Comunity.
Company of Heroes: Europe War (EW).

EW will face off two opposing teams of players; the Allies and the Axis; as they set off across European battlefields set on domination and victory.
For this we have a tactical map that represents the locations of the separate sides and their armies as they re-write the battles of WW2 in pre-arranged ingame battles using community and Relic made maps based off each location.

 

Each team will have 12 players, divided by military rankings (Supreme Commanders will be voted for by the players), distributed into the 5 armies of CoH:EF. Each player will take command of one military historically based division; for example:

- 101th Airborne (US)
- 11. Panzer Division (Wher)
- 10th Guards Uralsko-Lvovskaya Tank Division (USSR)

At the start of the campaign, each player will take possession of a limited number of territories. Then, through the use of our forums the teams will organize themselves; moving, attacking and defending as needed - on the tactical map. If a commander orders one of his divisions to attack a territory already defended by an enemy division, then a battle will be fought in Company of Heroes Eastern Front between these players. Leading to 1v1s, 2v2s and more as Commanders assault barely defended regions or push for large assaults on important sectors.

The division that wins this match will take control of this territory.
Battles will continue back and forth as armies fight their way across Europe, a Europe at war, until finally a team reaches one of their Final Objetives.

Allies:

a) Take control of Berlin.
b) Take control of +85% of the territories before June of 1946.

Axis:

a) Take control of Stalingrad.
b) Take control of +15% of the territories before June 1946 (its considered conditional surrender of Germany, because difficult for Allies to invade -  for EW its considered German victory because its not an unconditional surrender).
c) "Expurge" US and Brits from West Europe.

Players exceptional actions will have rewards. Players can see the EW  history developmente reading an journal with the last news from the front:



The matches replays will be analyzed by the EW organization, and players may be commanded. With medals and other awards available to achieve; such as:

Order of Glory: Medal given to a Soviet division that makes brave use of Armour (IS-2, T34, Su-85, ISU-152, KV-2 and others).

Knigth Cross: Medal given to a German leader that shows bravery in defending Germany, doing deeds above and beyond the call of duty and the average commander.

The Main Features of EW:

- Teamwork; planning, strategy and comunication between players.
- Mix of Real Time Strategy and Turn Based game.
- Medals and promotions: players will be rewarded and these rewards will be on a "Honor Hall" forever on EW.
- Medals, locations, names and Divisions based maximun possible in historical facts.
- Prize: U$15,00 game on steam (we are receiving donations).
- Weeks of FUN!!

PS: The drawback on this first version of EW:

We are acepting ONLY portuguese speaking players, because all forum structure and EW rules are in portuguese, and we can't make it in english, YET. On future versions you can expect opened to other players.

World of Tanks is an awesome game so thought I'd make a thread for people to post their ingame usernames and levels of tanks.
Hopefully get some platooning on the go - plus find people to add.

Also, please vote in the poll whether you'd be interested in an EF Company so that we might put Russia in the right hands ;)



Dragon93 - T-34 (Lvl5), SU-85B (Lvl4), Wespe (Lvl3) - All fully upgraded except radio's and next tanks (plus the 85s for the Soviet tanks).

Suggestions / Official Appeal: UCS and Icons Needed? Tell Us

Hey there EF Community.
In the excitement of breakthroughs and massive changes to the mod and the game since we begun and since initial release, some basic's have been left unchanged or unnoticed. Namely, extra icons for new changes not created, icons for abilities not made, and text left incorrect or unedited.

I'm requesting people to keep they're eyes open, read text and compare icons to what they're meant to represent and point out whether old vCoH icons re-used by the Russians need replacing. Going through all this without you otherwise wouldn't be an easy or fast task.


Here's some examples:

  • Sturmovie Ingenery still uses the same icon as the Ingenery.
  • Extra Text for the T-34/85 Call-In remains "Churchill AVRE".
  • The AT Grenade has the extra text "Bad vs. Infantry in Cover" - should say, Good vs. Tanks.
  • Partisan Call-In still says "Good vs. Tanks and Infantry".
    Usage text for Stalin's Speech instructs the player to "Left-click icon to use Blitzkrieg Tactics".


You can see the general idea of what has been missed; and the possible extent.
So please, post away and help improve the quality of this mod those extra few megabytes.
Lets perfect what we've got; before the Ostheer swamp our thoughts too much ;)

'Once More Into the Breach'

Eastern Front Fans,

1.22 Continues to fine tune the Soviet forces, along with some minor adjustments to vanilla.
Among the changes are the IL-2 Bombing run becoming a more unique, rocket run (quite a sight xD) and the Medic Truck receiving icons for its ability to clearly show on and off.

Apologies for the oversight of the PIAT ambush ability and the wire cutters both taking the same space on the taskbar, sorry for any inconveniences or annoyance.

[Soviet Balance/Fixes]
* Lowed T90 weapon penetration almost nothing.
* T90 weapon range reduced to 40m.
* Decreased T90 accuracy against infantry by 0.05.
* Tank Hunters cost increased to 280 manpower and reinforce cost to 28 manpower.
* Men Against Tanks research cost increased by 15 fuel.
* Close Range Support and Medium Range Support costs increased by 5 fuel each.
* Command Squad reinforce cost increased to 35 manpower.
* IL-2 ability now has same recharge time as firestorm and costs 200 munitions.
* God of War ability has same recharge time as a V1 and costs 150 munitions.
* British Staghound MG now has identical stats to American Greyhound MG.
* Firebase now requires 2 researches to unlock.
* Soviet Sase MGs hitpoints increased by 150.
* IS-2 cost raised to 620 manpower.
* Sturmovie health increased by 10pts per man.
* Button Up fixed to not be usable while garrisoned, rather than only while garrisoned.
* Russian trenches fixed to correctly work as designed.
* PTRD accuracy against all infantry set to 1%.
* Fixed issue where PIAT Sappers couldn't go into ambush.
* Fixed issue where unlocking the Urban Warfare twin flamer upgrade for Sturmovies prevented regular Ingenery from upgrading to a single flamer.
* Increased Molotov recharge time by 10 seconds.
* Reduced Commissar health by 15 hitpoints.
* Increase PPS-43 cost for Command squad to 100 munitions.
* T70 cost increased to 35 fuel.
* Sherman 105 can now fire a smoke shell.
* IL-2 bombs have now been replaced with rockets. They fire a salvo of 8 rockets per pass.
* Added ability icons to the Medic Truck to show on and off.
* Increased Command Squad build time by 5 seconds.
* Increased Ingenery build time by 2 seconds.
* Increased Lend-Lease Sherman requirement by 1 Commander Point.
* Reduced ISU-152 requirement by 1 Commander Point.
* Increased Conscripts build time by 5 seconds.
* Increased Penal Squad build time by 5 seconds.
* Increased cost of Sharpshooters to 360 manpower.
* Increased reinforce time for sharpshooter by 10 seconds.
* Moved Charge (AOE Fireup) ability for command squad to veterancy 1.
* IL-2 ability now lasts the same time as the Henshel HS-129 ability.
* Reduced Soviet starting resources to 605 manpower.

[COH balance]
* Wehrmacht Panzerschreck accuracy against M8 armour type (M8, T17, T70, T90) increased to 0.85.
* Panzer Elite Panzerschreck accuracy againstM8 armour type increased to 0.85.
* Puma veterancy 3 received accuracy bonus of 0.95 removed.

Eastern Front Patch 1.20

'The Great Patriotic War'


Eastern Front Fans,

Patch 1.20 is an immense upgrade, if not re-design, of the Soviet side.
As voted for by our community, the Soviets now receive veterancy in a mixed fashion merging the ideals of the American side, with the unique battle changing upgrades of the Soviets. Along with this all Soviet Units aside from the NKVD Conscripts (now renamed to represent the Penal troops of the Soviet army) can retreat from battle; and live to fight another day - a needed addition considering the new inclusion of hard earned veterancy.

On top of this we are very happy to announce the inclusion of Reward units that do NOT require Tales of Valour; created by skilled members of the CoH modding community. The ToV reward units are of course not available unless you own ToV, nonetheless the EF ones however are available to all - giving a little extra to those Allied/Axis fans out there.

On top of these already large inclusions, we have broken from protocol and set out to balance the vanilla game with the help of skilled expert players, finally fixing many of the long term balance issues seen in CoH.
