Im not sure actually. I think the turret was too small for someone to fit inside. My guess is maybe they developed a remote control system, and maybe pedals were used. I know pedals were used to fire the guns for the M15a1 CGMC, one to fire the .50 cals and one to fire the 37mm, so its definitely a possibility a similar system was used on other vehicles of other countries

Here is an interesting soviet weapon I found.

it was a 37mm airborne anti-tank gun. I cant find much more info on it because all the info I find on it is in russian, but it served during the last few years of the war, and was capable of being transported by glider or paradropped. Its main feature was its recoiess design, though I dont completely understand how it worked it seems like it had some of the aspects of an anti-tank gun and a recoiless rifle

Using sub-caliber rounds it could penetrate 86mm of armor at a range of 500 meters

Here is how you assemble a single track link of a kettenkrad. I can o ly imagine how complicated the treads of a tiger or panther were

Tiger and Panther were less complicated  ;D
As far as i know the Kettenkrad was called the most complicated vehicle of ww2. And perhais this tracks were one of the reasons for this reputation. Nightmare to fix ^^
May the force be with you.

A neat picture of a captured StuG III G in full mobile concrete bunker mode and mounted MG replaced with an StG44.

I believe the Finns bunkered up their Sturmi's in a similar fashion.

Hi everyone,

I've found a most peculiar photo (see attached).

No, it's not the worlds weirdest car crash, but rather an ingenious camouflage technique -- This Sonderkraftfahrzeug 250/1 was in a 'hull down' position with a civilian car perched on top. Brilliant!

Credit where credit is due: This picture is taken from 'German Armoured Cars and Reconnaissance Half-Tracks 1939-45' by Bryan Perret.

Cheers, CoHtaku.

As far as i know it is one of this famous "Market Garden" picture. The german army tried to save as much as possible. I have a couple of fotos where cars were put on halftracks, trucks or car that were pulled by halftracks, ect ect.
May the force be with you.

Hello Gerrit,

The book states that the photograph was taken in Italy in 1943. I wasn't aware of this being done before, so feel free to post some of your own photos if you like. :)

Thanks, CoHtaku.
