[Finished] Feodosia (2)
« on: October 24, 2012, 08:35:14 PM »
Nice and quick, but as promised I present the early stages of Feodosia!

Now, before you all say that it's bland and hideous, that's because I haven't changed the atmosphere settings and I'm using the default grass (seeing as it suits the location the most).

Anyway, more pictures are coming!

Let me know if you have any thoughts.

That is some strange placment for VP. Looks very close together. What is the map size? (You like mirrored maps, do you? xD)

The map size is exactly the same as Angoville, and the VP's are separated by impassible cliffs that follow the roadside briefly. It'll need to be tested though to see if they need to be moved further apart.

And it's not entirely mirrored! The roadways are to ensure there is an exact amount of negative terrain, while all other cover is unevenly but fairly distributed. I have to make it fair to play though, after all!

Reminds me of the Road 1v1 map in Men of War a bit. Nice work :)

Oh ok, so the VP´s will never be connected on range, because of a permanent shot blocker. Well the map is not entire finished, but i got the impression from the roads. Move on, looks very nice!

And here are a few screenshots of the finished product.

Yes, it looks bland, but that's what you get for using grass_default. It doesn't look too bad in game!

Anyways, let me know what you think. Until then, onto the next project!

Good job. Seems like a hot summer though, a little more green grass splats here and there would certainly bring it to perfection!

This is a screenshot from a mediterranean mapping tutorial attempt I started more than a year ago - with a little more green, it could look like this:
