Title: background animation
Post by: Player on May 19, 2013, 12:00:39 AM
Hello,

Is it possible to change the background lobby animation or use a static image? If the answer is no, is it possible to tweak the lobby and cap it to 30fps when i use v-sync off?Because as me and other players that dislike v-sync with the animation ON it is wasting gpu resources, meaning, higher power comsuption.

At this moment i use a registered Dxtory license to cap my fps to 24 when i'm in the lobby and 100 on the game, but whenever i start a game i have to go to the windows in order to change it to 100 and then back to 24 when the game ends.

Use MSI Afterburner to record. Offers a lot more functions regarding video capture and it's free.

Who said anything about recording?

I just want to cut the animation off to lower the power consumption when i'm at the lobby in the main channel chatting a bit, and if there's no way of doing that at least tweaking it internally to 24/30fps would be great.

If you use vsync off you would get around 200 if not more fps and that's a waste of gpu resources just for chatting at the main lobby.

Capping with software is one way of fixing it but if there's a way around that would be great.

Is there any file that i can delete to cut that background animation?

In the "Company of Heroes Relaunch\Eastern Front\movies" folder try adding an empty file called "FEMovie.lua"

Did not work.

This is the background animation:

I want it as a static image or locked automatically to 24fps.
