Title: Russian language for Eastern Front?
Post by: jcraven33 on May 26, 2013, 07:44:21 PM
My vanilla coh is all in English, but all of the Eastern Front stuff is in Russian. If I try to change the language in the Locale.ini to English then everything in eastern front is in English but everything in vanilla is some weird English with every line reading "no support $455689238" or something weird like that. Does anyone know what I need to change to get it all English?

You can't.

Eastern Front uses the same locale type than CoH, so you probably need to reinstall EF. Unless I'm mistaken and EF uses windows locale to chose it's own.

I tried reinstalling it. Same thing though  :( The only thing I was wrong on was the gibberish that reads when I switch the language to English in the locale.ini file. All the lines read $569872897 no range while all the stuff in EF is perfect English. I just don't get it.

Ok I am sure this was the complete wrong way to fix it, but it worked. I took the EasternFront.russian.ucs and replaced it with the EasternFront.English.ucs file and just renamed it Russian. All fixed but I am sure there was a much simpler way  :P

That was the last thing I thought to suggest though :). Glad to hear it works for you.

Do you have your copy of Windows in Russian?

No windows is in English. I think the problem lies somewhere in the fact that I have it installed twice on my computer. Long explanation on why I did that (mods)but I am guessing something got mixed up doing that.
