Title: New Skins and Models for Company of Heroes 2?
Post by: Aleksander on July 09, 2013, 10:37:15 PM
Hello,
I'm sorry if there is already an thread on this subject, but I was just thinking if you will be adding more realistic skins for the new Company of Heroes 2? I know that mod tools haven't been released yet and that the first game is horribly hard to mod, but the current look and skins, especially on the Soviet side are so unrealistic. It would be awesome to see your work, in the game.

CoH 2 is cannot be modded and I'm not sure when it will, probably never because they are selling their own skin packs and that would surely means less income... however, we won't be making skin package even if they allow modding. I'm sure everyone and their dog will create their own skin pack versions of the Soviet Army, so variety will be there... supposing Relic allows modding ofc.

I was more wondering if you would implement some of the mod's skins into the normal Company of Heroe since they look much better.

Umm, what do you mean?  Most of, if not all the skins, are only for the Russians and the Ostheer - I don;t believe any of the skins for the vanilla factions have been changed.

There are modding tools available ;)
But this tools were prepared by users.
I have no idea if there is someone who is already working with this tools.
Visit CoH-boards for more information.

Im fairly certain relic will, they are almost ready with a worldbuilder tool and they already designated a dev as modding community representative or something like that

They probably are getting other things out of the way first before making modding available again, like making sure people cant just change a few files and unlock all of the DLC without paying

Nearly all of the COH1 modding tools were community made as well :P (excluding worldbuilder)
