I just started playing Ostheer and really love it but am still learning the vehicle functions etc. I cant seem to get the 251 halftrack to heal any of the soldiers. It will only lock down inside my original HQ which sort of defeats the purpose. What am I doing wrong?
-
You are doing it fine. The medic HT only heals in the command sector atm.
-
Is that going to change?
-
Thanks BLackbishop. Is there another vehicle that provides reinforcements and/or healing capabilities?
-
When u need reinforcement at the field use the SdKfz. 251 and the infantry vet medikits.
It is much more expansive but it is a chance to reinforce and heal infantry on the battlefield.
-
Or build medic tent so you can reinforce and get free MP for picked up wounded OH soldiers.
-
Is that going to change?
I don't think so... at least balancers say it is fine. But feel free to post a proposal and back it up ;). Who knows, maybe your plan could be better.
-
It's just a triage center. For in-field heal you have medic vet.
-
While we are at it, why not ad it as upgrade for SdKfz 251? You had plenty of upgrades for it before.
-
Because Ostheer has medic vet for in-field healing and the ostheer halftrack needs way too many resources to tech to (requires t2 + modernization to get). Healing should be available regardless of teching.

yeah turning the medic truck into a Soviet medic truck would lessen the uniqueness of the Ostheer and I think the present healing and reinforcement system is fine (especially if you play fortress).
-
The medic halftrack bugs me since it looks "mobile" but it must stay in base to be useful, maybe it should have an extra utility out in the field which wouldn't overlap any other ability like reinforcing or healing to excuse why it is a halftrack and not a counterpart of the Triage center.

Out of my view the medic half track has a big advantage:
When your enemy is starting a base sector artillery bombardment you can rescue your "first aid center" by moving it out of the fire.
Sometimes you can move next too an other building and you can go on healing your troops during the HQ bombardment ;)

So true ;D, but I really dislike the fact that it has upkeep

I didn't even think about that but yeah it does have upkeep :P
Maybe in the future the upkeep cost could be removed to make it more of a true Triage Center counterpart?
