Title: Incompatibility with the Great War 1918 on Steam (solved)
Post by: Jakaze on September 08, 2014, 11:16:09 PM
Doesn't launch at all anymore, through the launcher nor the the command line -mod easternfront. I've tried reinstalling eastern front, CoH, and 1918. No success. 1918's dev has tried to fix it, but he's done all he's going to do, I believe. I've even tried making a batch file for eastern front, but as I don't know what I'm doing, I have failed. Help would be greatly appreciated.
I really enjoy this mod and would like to continue playing it D:

There is no way for us to fix this, otherwise we already would have released a beta of EF on Steam for Donors and Beta Testers.

I got both TGW and EF installed right now and Eastern Front works fine.

Eastern Front will work fine as long as it is not part of the Steam library. That's what I said and it is the reason of why EF is not there yet :(.

Why it didn't work to you before, I don't know. I didn't have that problem myself :\.

I made the massive mistake of downloading 1918 through Steam. So much regret.

I have EF and TGW and both works fine. Download the "normal" TGW (non-steam)

I've attached what I get whenever I try to use the eastern front launcher or trying to play 1918 manually. With both Blitzkrieg and Eastern Front, when trying to play from their respective launchers, I'm shown as playing 1918 and then this message.
I've already downloaded the steam version of 1918 and played it; I don't know how (if there's even a way) to get rid of it from my library.

Just saw this thread http://www.easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=11288.15
I'm going to try what's mentioned in there, see if that solves my issue.

Well, I've the same issue. I've uninstalled whole Company of Heroes game along with mods and I downloaded it again. Then I installed EF. And when I try to play it, it says I play TGW mod and it says it cannot find my CoH product.
Meh... I should have kept my TGW manual install instead of trying Steam one...

EDIT: It appears as long as TGW1918 will be in my Steam library, I won't be able to play EF. Even making simple shortcut for RelicCoH.exe is not working, I mean it says it doesn't recognize my CoH product. Is there any way to remove TGW/free content from Steam? Removing local files is not helpful.

(Sorry for double post)
OK, I fixed it. Just you need to make a shortcut of Steam.exe and add parameter "-applaunch 228200 -dev -mod Eastern_Front".
