I'm pretty sure the answer is 'yes' (commando gliders being an example of 'yes' belief), but I wanted to make sure before I get too committed to the idea...
Can 'tier level' base buildings be changed in accordance with chosen doctrine? Please note, I DO mean this is as in a standard line-up building that is built bu the generic builder unit. The 'goal' would be a building that changes its build options entirely depending on the doctrine the player chooses (preferably even have the building itself appear different).
Why am I asking this? Well, lets just say that I have something of a 'secret project' in the works that (if I can flesh it out a bit more, and get the necessary assurances for the team) I may well be willing to share with the EF team... I *could* tell you more... But then I'd have to kill you...

Yes, it's possible. Afaik all you Need to do is to create several new building menus, add them to pioneer squads and then couple those menus to the doctrine.
Like: build_menu_elite, build_menu_propaganda etc., with requirements "usage_and_display when playerupgrade Propaganda = true"
I think that's all.
But I have to warn you: coupling too much stuff to a doctrine makes the gameplay very strange, as you're forced into a certain direction very early. Battle of the Bulge mod did this and I didn't enjoy the gameplay at all.

My idea calls for only a single 'doctrinal' building in a tier1-4 line-up, with the rest being 'generic'. The idea was actually inspired by the Ostheer 'pool' system - a way to increase unit variety without having to add multiple new base-buildings altogether.
But thanks for the response, it's good to hear the idea is 'doable'. I'll be in touch again once I flesh things out a bit more...
