I have been looking around for voice actors for a little bit, and my main source has failed me. If any of you could help out, or have some friends, or some message boards with people, anything, that could help out, please reply to this thread. The team would greatly appreciate it, thank you!

I know someone that speaks russian but unfortunately its a women

she could be useful for the person that says "We're under attack" etc. If thats changed, could use a russian accent.

Probably for unit voices. Now i think about it a women might be useful because the Russians did have women fighters. I read about one group who would hide and shoot the Germans in the back, maybe voice for Partisans or Snipers?

Im russian and my english is pretty good also
I have some nice mic and skills with audio software (not professional-grade equipment though, but it allows to produce decent sound)
I can help you with recording some voice samples (male voices, since im not a woman)
For instance, something along the lines of "Hey polar bear, come get some vodka!" "For Russia, for Stalin!" "Eat that, you nazi bitch!"

Could you post a recording or your self saying some of the basic stuff. Like "We Move For Stalin" and "We are under fire" etc.?

Ok here is some samples i made with external mic i guess main prob is to provide certain consistency in the general sound, so someone from you has to re-master, expand and de-noise bunch of samples.
One of samples shows more deep voice suitable for ingame announcements, others imitate combat radio (unit voices) so they kinda washed-out and distorted, unfortunately i couldnt record famous "hoorah, chaarge!" now for various reasons, maybe later), post-edit includes various cleanup, envelope (to clean sample ends and emphasize certain words in phrases), pan\expand, equalizing (2 presets), still noise is noticable in certain conditions, i can think of various methods how to improve this.
Actually i tried to make it sound as if record was made by some non-russian talent (you know, stereotypical russian like "foolish amerrikaner, lets kill him my komrades") dunno if this is something you can sense) enjoy)

Just use Russian accents, you wanna be able to know what they are saying.

But you know, soldiers in CoD2 etc actually speak their native languages and thats what looks cool) Ok anyway you decide such things, i can record both languages)

More simple orders etc. would be best in English, but soem things, like curses etc. would probably sound good in Russian. Go to the Dev section > Projects > Others, we have a list of stuff to say. Try them.

If accents are okay i can do a good Russian one as well, plus Jamaican, Indian, French etc. 8)

If it sounds right I don't see why not, it would probably be easiest with someone from Russia though, for obvious reasons ;)

I can speak Russian and my English is pretty good. Not sure what help i can be with my voice though (I'm 16 and don't have a very deep voice)

My good lords, I can get a few voices for you. I've got a whole forum of Russians. If you want me to, I will post a thread there and coordinate the Work.

Are the voices going to be in actual Russian or just Russian accented? Surely it would be easier to get English speakers to fake a Russian accent.
My Russian accent differs from time to time... I can do it well, and other times, not so well. Have to remember that the Russian Language has no ARTICLES in it, so try not to use words like "the, a or an", that way, you at least get some grammar correct ;)
Also, speaking of voices... maybe we should find a sound editing program that allows us to change pitchs and stuff, possibly even make crackly sounding Tank Intercom voices.

Don't know much about sound editing, but i understand the basics of a program called Audacity. Not figured out how to do the whole radio thing yet though.

We should definitely scout around for such a program if they exist and aquire it... somehow. I would 'pay' for certain privilages, but the CVV code at the back of my Card has rubbed off ::) I relise that this IS the Internet and we don't really need to pay for stuff, but the best, virus free file sharing websites usually offer themselves up like cheap whores, so its best to go with them rather than download cancerous torrents.
I'm already part of such a site (why, right this very second i'm downloading Spore :P ) but I checked their Applications section and they don't have much in the way of Audio editing software... plus, I need a mic to test it.

i have cooledit pro or as it is called now adobe audition. need some synthesizer for the radio, but should be no problem. will try it when i have time.
