Title: OstHeer Doctrines - Inspiration
Post by: huggy on December 06, 2009, 07:15:18 PM
Hello there.

Here are some suggestions that i made to the ostheer,
ive tried to balance them as good as i could, well anyway its just some ideas to inspire the developers.

Waffen SS doctrine.

This doctrine is inspired by the "panzer Elite - Luftwaffe" very versitile doctrine, The waffen SS does not use any form of
artilleri support they are the spearhead of an assault or city fight skirmish.

Freikorps WaffenSS voluenteers
Call in a 6 man infantry squard, light equipped fast Elite troops. They dont have any heavy armour,
but are deadly Elite troops, and precise scooters.
5x kar98 1x mp44 carried by a german SS officer( squard can be upgraded with MG34 LMG)
can fire Panzerfaust and throw incendiary grenades of cost of munitions.
Units wears waffen SS camo, officer wears camo with decals + a hat insdtead of camo helmet

Call of the Führer (Inspired assault)
troops now Attack with an fanatical intensity, with no reguard of their own personal safety,
While this ability is active. troops sings german war song while this is active.

Brummbär Tank
Call in 1x Brummbär tank
The brummbär has a "lock down ability" same as PanzerIV stubby wich imobilize it so the crew can reload and fire more quick, The Brummbär tank is a heavy infantry support gun, fearless for taking down infantry garrisoned in buildings,
or massed in open areas. The Brummbär has a slow fire rate and turs around slow but does massive damage to infantry and light vehicles.

----------------------------------------------------------

Assault Grenades.
Enables Infantry squards to assault targets with grenades

Fight down all resistance !
Increases the cisual range of all captured points, revealing more of the surrounding Territory

Pak 40 7,5cm.
calls in a Pak 40 7,5cm. heavy anti tank gun

----------------------------------------------------------

Panzer spearhead

Assault to the east.
Light vehicles can now capture enemy territory points

Panzer Fausts
All infantry now gets a panzer faust that can be fired of the cost of 35munitions

The Elephant
a ferdinand (elephant) tank now enters the battle, very slow fire rate, but does massive dammage,

----------------------------------------------------------

Panzer Komandanten
Trained panzer komandanten now apears on the tank hatch, because of their skillfull cominication tactics, more visual range from every Tank is now avaible.

Panzer March!
Tanks now move fasterin the time the ability is activated, (just as Blitzkreig)

Henchel anti tank support
Henchel airplane flies over battlefield targeting enemy vehicles. (same as Panzer Elite)
----------------------------------------------------------

Siege Warfare.

Tellar mines
Heavy antitank mines, can now be build by all infantry

Hold the line!
All units inside controlled area now gets an defensive aura that gives defensive bonuses to all units

pennetrable artilleri

Call in artilleri strike on selected area.

----------------------------------------------------------

Defensive line
all infantry can now build tankblockeds and barbed wire

Upgraded fortifications
All strucktures bunkers buildings gets upgraded with sandbags etc, getting permanent Defensive bonuses

105mm howitze

a german fh-18 Field howbizer can now be construcked by Pioneers

well thats it, hopeing that could give you some good ideas for the ostheer!

best reguards Huggy

No offense mate, but there wasn't anything very original. Try and not take stuff from the existing factions if you can help it, give the Ostheer a more unique flavor

Hey.

Yeah some of the ideers are taken from others, those ive just included, because i found them briliant. I must admit tho its hard to come up with some very ORIGINAL ideers, that wont be too stupid or owerpowered, anyways i hope some of the listed ideers are usefull when developers are working on OSTHEER...

arh yeah the "sturmtiger" definately looks more bad ass ! the only problem i find is that it only fought a few places on the eastfront >_< anyway ill change the Brummbär to sturmtiger then if no fanatical historians would disagree  8)

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmtiger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmtiger)
 Combat service

Sturmtiger during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, the only combat footage ever taken of the weapon. The rocket projectile can be seen as it exited the mortar on the extreme left side of the image.
The original role of the Sturmtiger was intended to be as a heavy infantry support vehicle, to help with attacks on heavily fortified or built-up areas. By the time the first Sturmtigers were available however, the situation for Germany had changed for the worse, with the Wehrmacht being almost exclusively on the defensive rather than the offensive.
Three new Panzer companies were raised to operate the Sturmtiger: Panzer Sturmmörser Kompanien (PzStuMrKp) (Armored Assault Howitzer Company) 1000, 1001 and 1002. These originally were supposed to be equipped with fourteen vehicles, but this figure was later reduced to four each, divided into two platoons.
PzStuMrKp 1000 was raised on 13 August 1944 and fought during the Warsaw Uprising with two vehicles, as did the prototype in a separate action, which may have been the only time the Sturmtiger was used in its intended role. PzStuMrKp 1001 and 1002 followed in September and October. Both PzStuMrKp 1000 and 1001 served during the Ardennes Offensive, with a total of seven Sturmtigers.
After this offensive, the Sturmtigers were used in the defence of Germany proper, mainly on the Western front.

 So, meh.
If you want to put this in, then Russian get IS-4, IS-6
Americans can ABRAMS M-1 tank, the French get a
land-locked nuclear carrier, and the British get the USS
enterprise ;) (And a whole fleet of Klingon battlecruisers) ;)

fail

anyway i hope you liked some of the ideas, Sturmtiger seems abit too fansy with rocket projektiles, and considering the case that there was many of them and they did not fight much on the eastern front = idea scrapped.

Brummbär FTW then

 Exactly :) Sturmpanzer/BrummBar, at worse.
 No SturmTiger. Bad, bad, bad.

Or else I want my IS-4, IS-6 and Abrams M1 Tank
with depleted uranium shells and A-10 Warthog with
 laser-guided AT Missiles :)

Strumtiger isnt modern, so your argument makes no sense

M1 Abrams isn't modern either. It's been around for years ;)

As for IS-4/IS-6 were kinda around during war too ;)

Sturmtiger didn't go on Eastern Front ;)
