Title: Ruled out already?
Post by: BATTERIES on January 05, 2010, 01:17:11 AM
2 obvious choices , was wondering if these have been already ruled out.

To be used as an ostheer AVRE type weapon , Mabye a call in on an urban combat tree , same sort of damage and cool down as AVRE , just a larger panzerfaust style effect to make the rocket det charge look legit. These were used on the eastern front in warsaw and afterwards.
Could make a cool addition.

Russian maxim m1910 used extensivly.I know the russian faction is  almost tied-up. Its just a thought to give a supression unit .
It could function like a pak 38 or 57 mm in movement , Upside of green cover front direct attack however exposed flanks and very slow to move around. Also impossible to retreat , as compared to normal mg teams , so can be easily captured (PE players shout YAY at hearing this  ;D ).
Could make for some interesting micro and tactics.

1. Try doing this (http://miletmaq.hp.infoseek.co.jp/Army/SturmTigerTa35/SturmTigerTa35_35.jpg) with your links in the future (or at the very least click once more for the shorter url: http://miletmaq.hp.infoseek.co.jp/Army/SturmTigerTa35/SturmTigerTa35_35.jpg (http://miletmaq.hp.infoseek.co.jp/Army/SturmTigerTa35/SturmTigerTa35_35.jpg)) I took that by clicking "See Full Size Image" on the link you posted and using that much neater url.

2. Agree with ford, newcomers should read around a bit before posting what we have already discussed.

3. I believe we unofficially decided that the sturmpanzer IV would make more sense both historically and balance wise

4. They couldn't get the maxim to work as far as I know, so that is why it is not in the mod

I'd quite like to see the Sturmtiger too. However I think it only saw action at Warsaw, which is still the Eastern Front i guess...

Well they let the USA have the Pershing...

They let USA have Pershing... so Germans should have
 unlimited Maus? :) Nooo... :)

Try to focus on numerous average units rather than
stacking rare superunits in the game, you $#()!$ :)

Pershing is only American Super Tank and present in ONE
faction. Whereas Germans have 3 THREE super Tanks!!!!!
 ... 4 Ferdinand Elephant, 5 JagTiger, 6 Brummbarr, 7...
 Tiger Ace?... then...

sturmtiger go!

the brummbär wasnt a supertank  - its pretty much the same as a StuH, not a jagdtiger or something like that.

Thats what makes the germans so special , their outrageous weapons like the king tiger and planned maus.

For the reasons of super coolness it should be in

I have used the sturmtiger(related) in the battle of the bulge mod that is fun anyway the only reason why I even posted this is to say in that mod you can call one in at a time and you can replace it which was historically innacurate. If the Sturmpanzer is going to be put in I think it should be a one time call in.

Why should sturmpanzer only be a one time call in if (in theory) it will be a slightly better stuH?

I assume you meant Strumtiger

No it will be a bit better than a stuH.
Heavy armour , but slower movement.
Huge dmg vs buildings but slow reload , maybe like AVRE  and mabye you should have to use like 25 munitions or something each use because those rockets were expensive.
Also a one time call in should be in it because there werent many of them but they were very effect at what they did.

Lets get a sturmtigerrr

I would LOVE if could implement something like...
1 time super unit, if dies, can call in something lesser... ?
Like King Tiger, if dies, call normal Tigers?

Same with SturmTiger... if dies, call in StuH or something :)

Sturmtiger NEVER fought at eastern frontlines  :-*

So why do u dont look for other selfpropelled guns like the Panzer 38 t 15cm sIG "Grille".
