Soviets will be using enhanced AI.

Ah, that is good to hear.  I was worried since you were introducing a new faction the regular AI wouldnt recognize how to play them, and try to play them as the British/Americans or something.

They had some programmer guy come and fix AI :)
THANK GOD! Major hurdle. Did it recently, too.

I believe the AI for vanilla factions was enhanced too.

SWEET! you know what comes to mind?

4v4 Russian X4  VS  CPU easy/normal

ownage to the bare maximum! Well, I'll be playing lowest graphics at 15 fps the entire game lol

Enhancing the AI for all factions would go against the mods "leave vanilla alone" policy.  It is good to hear that the Russians will have a working AI, as I like playing Wher but I feel bad killing Americans and Tommys.

Having been raised in the shadow of the cold war, killing Russians would not create such a moral dilemma.  lol

We made the vanilla faction AI better, simply because the brand-spanking-new Soviet AI completely owned it. All in the name of balance.

Are there still different levels of AI difficulty or is the new AI not able to be on a gradient?  Another thought, is the new AI a new 'level' of difficulty?

Ex:  Easy
      Normal
      Hard
      Expert
      New Super AI

it wouldnt be New Super AI, it would be USMC. :P

No, the vanilla AI level system is still the same.

So each level of the new AI is still called the same thing but is now significantly better?  So if before a Hard AI was reasonable to play against then now it will be truly hard and a Normal AI will be what was once considered Hard?

And because nobody used the normal Easy setting there would be no problems.

Or have I misinterpreted you once again?

It isn't necessarily harder. It just thinks more, and does things more cleverly.

So things like sending pioneers and MG teams at Machine Guns in buildings unsupported will stop.  This is good.  An AI that plays chess by using the pieces the right way instead of one that just sends more pieces.

Does the AI still spam AT guns, rangers and/or (if your playing 2v2 or 3v3 or something) airbourne?

Russian Conscript spam sends shivers down my spine.

They still produce a lot of AT guns, yeah... the little shits. Rangers i'm not sure... Soviet AI likes to spam Partisans though...

Oh well, theres nothing like seeing a million AT guns stuck in one place. The AI can be so silly sometimes. This is what firestorm was really for  ;).

Somehow, I just can't image soviet AI spamming HMGs :)

Oh, does Soviet AI use global upgrades???

... Can you guys switch SU122 for KV2 and make
 KV2 a reward unit that can't be recalled ? ;) (Like KT)

Stalin646,

CoH EF is free. No pay, no buy, no money.

No problems with datadiscs.

No campaign for soviets right now. Maybe later.

CoH EF will be ready to download across the internet: 21 January 2010.
