Now, without further explanation this poll would seem ridiculous and very selfish, snobbish, noobish, unfair, and several other negative things.
My reason for asking to play the Beta is that I am leaving for USMC boot camp on the 19th of this month.
I have been very excited about this mod and was naturally quite disappointed to find that it will be released to the public two days after I ship.
I understand that this poll is completely out of line and I don't expect anything to come of it but I still would like some opinions on this.
( Honestly, I don't think I would vote 'yes' for someone else. Why would I believe that a person who is about to be trained to kill would spend his time setting up and online poll?)
Note: I will not vote in my own poll.

I would like to say that one I have believed that you have been a nice person on this forum and I seemed like an ass to you sorry about that but you did make some comments that I did not agree with (living in Texas I'm getting better at hiding my own views) but I do have a soft spot for the people serving in the Armed Forces so I personally believe yes he should

OH MY GOD I AM SORRY MAN I VOTED NO!!!!!! I THOUGHT THE QUESTION WAS "Am I being selfish" PLEASE COUNT MY VOTE AS A YES FOR THIS MAN
-
I'd wait and play it when you get back. That way it will have a few bug fixes, balance changes and updates under its belt and you'll be getting a kickass first-experience. If you get it now there will be a big question mark regarding the mod's presentation which might even turn you off.

Actually, I'd just screw the corps and come to Canada. That way you can play the mod on release day.
-
I would not want to wait for four years man
-
Normally pleas to DL a mod before a public release are selfish and impatient. But considering you are going to join the armed forces, i say yes. You have a chance of never coming back, and even though your copy might have a few bugs, at least you got to enjoy it without waiting four years when CoH 2 comes out.
-
Yes. and by the way, good luck there brother. Semper-Fi!
-
boot camp is 12 weeks long he can play when he gets out of basic your schooling depends on what your taking but u can use lap top while in school.
-
i dunno what to vote, yes or no..., i dunno whats means each one ???
-
Wow, I am surprised at the positive feedback I am getting!
More details to answer various questions.

It is 13 weeks now, but that is not a big deal. Also the thing about the laptop is usually true, just not always.

I would agree, but I am not a patient man. Everybody else at boot is worrying about the DIs while I think only of missing the EF mod. Also, the Marines are volunteer only, running away would be kinda silly as I was not drafted.
Furthermore, it would seem that several of you have the wrong idea as to what I am doing. Even though it will hurt my cause I must be honest.
I am not going to be killed at boot camp.
My specific MOS will have me training for up to a year or more. I will not be put into a position to die before I play EF. I am just so darned excited that I don't want to wait 1/4 of a year because I miss the release by two days.
-
I voted 'no'. I am a moderator, so therefore by deafult, I am a party pooper :-X
Don't take it personal ;)
-
Not true. You could still die at boot camp, dude :)
Get eaten by a toilet, or something. I voted yes you
should have it ;) - But it's not like my vote counts :(
*** Otherwise, Russians would have a T34 BG call-in *** :)
-
If you could get it just one or two days earlier then we'd have to give it to all those people claiming to be disabled, ill or whatever. I didn't actually know that there are so many gamers having deadly diseases before I started creating mods.
And thus I voted 'no'.
-cope.
-
if you realy want it that mutch say so that gays of the usmc to fuck off for a few weeks
-
Eh. I got a deadly disease. I was born.
Life is a sexually transmitted disease. I don't see how else
you can die xcept from being born in the first place ;)
... I thus think everyone should get mod right now :)

Don't worry, I've long ago stopped caring when people poop at, on or near my parties.
Oh the stories I could tell...
-
i went with yes but idk i went to army and one of the things that kept me trying my hardest was things i was gonna get to do after training. maybe dreaming of this mod will keep your ass moving haha seriously though itd be awesome if you did get to play in time.

lol, It would take real cahones to do that... that's like wedgying the Dali Lama in front of a Gurkha.

one of my Friends joined the finis army as a pioneer and the got a funny aide on how to cleanse trenches if you don't got hand-granade you stick a pack off Trotyl (TNT) to a stick and a 3 sec fuse and throw it in the trench.
so my Conclusion is boot camp can kill you ;D
but i dint tink you gonna doing so stupid things.
and remember murphys-laws of war
http://www.murphys-laws.com/murphy/murphy-war.html (http://www.murphys-laws.com/murphy/murphy-war.html)
one of my favorites Incoming fire has the right of way.
-
You see the difference here is that the Marine Corps cannot afford any TNT. All the funding was already spent on expensive things that don't work, like officers.
-
My grandpa on my mothers side, who was Air Force, would constantly berate my father, who is Marine Corps Lt. Colonel(ret) with jokes about officers, and 'military intelligence' since my dad eventaully became an intelligence officer after 7 years of infantry.
i could tell my father wanted to jump him a few times.
-
Sigh. Sigh. Need to keep attacking other countries, or else
there'll be interdicine fighting between services... ;) Bleh.
Reminds me of British services freaking out at the creation
of the Royal Air Force :)
-
Well, it looks like my time here is over. I thought it would be fitting to have my final post on this topic, seeing as what it has turned into.
But with all seriousness, I will miss this forum and its interesting members. I hope you will all still be here when I return, so that I may destroy you in the field of battle, deep within the heart of Russia.
Ooh-Rah!
-
Stay Safe, Stay Strong
Semper Fi, Marine.
-
Enjoy yourself.
-
Aye, good luck and have fun.
Who knows by the time you get back you might even be playing with the Ostheer :)
-
GI John,
As a veteran of U.S. Army 11 Bravo, I would like to advise you that going into marines doesn't make much sense unless you are making a career out of it or going in as an officer.
Anyway, I voted a yes for you because I feel your pain and frustration.
PS: It is not as bad as you think it is to cancel your contract before the actual graduation. Your drill sergeants will make it seem like it is the end of the world, because it is their job to graduate as many enlisted as possible. So if you feel that the core is something that is not right for you, don't be afraid to tell them you are out and come back to the luxury of being a civilian.
cheers ;)
-
he's already gone mate

Why this?
-
Damn, the poll has gone positive. We will have to give him the link now. Oh wait...
-
Dont worry, Warty. I plan to join the Marine Corps as well! But my deployment is far off. I'll take it off your hands, like a true friend would. :)
-
ah poor bastard, hope i dont have to use him for cover someday. (its a joke)
@НКВД: Dont try and get the guy to be an officer man theres to many already without making more. What do ya need to be a marine officer anyway?
-
shame he had to leave :'( I'm kinda sorry for him
