Dear communitie ,
a play COH few years realy love the setting ,
am happy to see how this Eastern Front Mod/ going ,
here is a idea from me
Antitank Dogs !! i don't know if possible to moddel, but it will be fucking great, and give the russian the ''bad'' look .
make a dog and a foodsoldier as squad give them invisible in cover plase them on the map , send the dog to a panzer.. BAM !!
-
Already shot down mate. Biggest problem is that devs don't want to model/animate dogs. You can make them some AT dogs and im sure they will be happy to add
-
Voop hit the nail on the head. Been suggested so many times its not even funny... for god sake, killing humans is alright but please think of the puppies :(
On another note... it would be fun to have and would be easy to model, but we have no idea (yet) how to create custom infantry animations.
-
and give the russian the ''bad'' look .
what's that supposed to mean???
-
For a second when I read the title about dogs I was immediately thinking Call of Duty World at War but I see it's about AT dogs. You do know the russians did actually train AT dogs but they failed because sometimes they would get scared and run back to their soldiers.
-
I wonder what would happen if the dog returned when the charge was already on...
-

They hid food under T-34's for training so the dogs would always look under Tanks for food... but when put into practise, the Dogs would run towards the T-34's instead of the Axis tanks because that's where they thought the food was ;D
-
That must of been scary, and yet very fun to watch the reactions of the infantry around the dog
-
"Nyet Laika, NYET, towards the fascists!" BOOM "Chort, we should have used Bratwurst instead of Borscht!"
-
AT dogs worked about as well as replacing Navy SEALS with actual seals.

I read somewhere that US Navy trained dolphins to swim below warships and then the trainers activated tan explosive charge attach to them...

Hi,
Seems like the plot of the movie , Deep Blue Sea..., It mught be true i dont know ...

Well there's a recent movie about US guys being trained
to develop psychic powers to kill at a distance. Namely turning
out that they hypnotise goats and sheep...
True story :p
Yea, well done in COD :) / MrScruffs would know how to
animate infantry. Or, if someone could, he would have been
the one to figure it out :( (Just ask Relic, damn you) Lol.
Hmm...
Yea, been mentionned WAY too often. Would be interesting
to implement! :) Way I suggest is PE AT mine punch, from
a dog. Make a trainer + Dog. Dog reacts as per proximity
to tank, like an uncontrolled goliath (fragile, though) and
can be re-inforced if trainer survives. This way, if player
isn't careful, it'd blow up his OWN tanks :)
Problem would be to make thus squads with different
members :( ALL-Dog squads might be ok?
... Maxim, dogs... CMON!!! FULL PRIORITY! HOW TO ANIM
!!!! :D (I recall animating tanks was a problem, no?) :)
-
True story :p
Hi Lou,
If half of what hollywood says is true , We would be living in mars by now .... ;)

- Well, apparently it's a true story. Wouldn't know, myself.
- Living on the moon would be very nice :) Mars, as well,
but not there just yet :)
There's a nazi on the moon movie in the works :)
-

Many squads have different members already.
Rifleman: Radio Guy
PE Tankbusters/Assault : One guy has black gloves
British scout squad: one guy has Scoped Lee Enfield
Command squad: one guy is Major Ivan Danko
I don't think that making members different would be a problem, just making one of the members a dog would be taking it to the next level.
-
How about this : The trainer is treated like a vehicle ;)
(Vampire PE drops goliaths, kind of). He is '2 units' (3?)
1 trainer, 2 dogs ;) And he is in ambush ... waiting...
Then sending dogs is like 'throwing a grenade'
*send off the dogs* Vanishing his 2 dogs and 2 new
'goliath dogs' appear, speeding to their target? With
trainer free to go 'reload' ? (via reinforcements)?
Would that work or did it sound to complex to code?
I worked it in a way that could be using already
existing code, kinda?
-
The problem is that the devs have to fidn a way to fix the "no recrewing" bug for the Soviets
-
No, no, no, no, no, no... :)
REINFORCE is fine (buy new troops)
RECREW is putting fresh unrelated troops (engineers/
soldiers) to recapture an abandonned AT gun/HMG/Mortar? :)
So no problem :)
Since 'Trainer' survived his 2 goliath's dog charge.
Small detail : dogs go kaboom if hit, with trainer, but
like a Pioneer/Flamethrower critical hit, not a Goliath
(Charge isn't armed yet) :)
-
No, no, no, no, no, no... :)

Sorry my mistkae. But there was not a bug also for the reinforce thing?
-
Nope. Only the recrew thing.
Reinforce works fine, as we saw in-game (next to bunker)
I'd love for there to be an auto-reinforce option, though,
when within range of outposts, barracks, etc, no?
-
Well it wouldn't be recrewing because the vampire halftrack dosn't recrew it just buys more goliaths to place.
-
Sigh. I meant the Handler soldier + 2 AT DOGS only has
to replenish the missing dogs. It's not a vehicle. It's a
squad!

Goliats were a fail too but there in coh...
The real problem with dogs si that they need an animated dog skin. You cant just redo any soldier. Everything is different with a dog.
