Title: Russian Bunkers

Could there be two types of Russian bunkers? One is the normal bunker like everybody else, the other, an open-aired bunker with a DShK HMG which could engage enemy troops and planes yet having less protection then normal?

I think that idea was sort of coming along. We've spoken loads about the vastness of Russian Defences, and the need to make them better than the British ones, so your idea will probably be in there somewhere. Except maybe, unlike the British stuff where the trenches and everything else are separate, the LMGs, HMGs, AT etc. will all be addons or upgrades to the trenches, meaning you can have large networks of defences. Maybe build a line of trenches in the same fashion as sandbags, possibly with troops being able to moving along them. You could then click on a trench, and get the LMG, AT, AA or Mortar. Then be able to upgrade them, well at least the LMG to a HMG. To remove uselessness though, they would all need pros and cons. Maybe HMGs shoot faster and stronger, LMGs are more accurate and better range. Could be a limit of the number of trenches in a network and the number of upgrades each one gets, plus a total limit of upgrades. Don't want people spamming defences.

Will that be possible to code I wonder having something as one link but with selectable parts? Or is that just my little knowledge of coding shining again? About variants of LMGs could we just make one cheaper than the other? Just thinking as we did decide something about them earlier but it doesn't really apply to trenches.

Well, its possible with sandbags. So im sure its possible with trenches. I'll try it some time.

VERY bad idea imo. British emplacements are somewhat near to OP-ness. That would make Russian/brit-combos EXTREMELY OP in every kind of teamgame.
Make them similar to the british or make them weaker & cheaper than british ones. You *could* add a kind of doctrine-ability which improves defenses, but don't make them uber from the start, it would only lead to tough balancing.

this trench idea is realy great i'v been having dreams about something like that and while ur on it maybe u culd consider Fox-Holes if not familiar with what it is ask some one or nvm. and i had one more thing witch i just cant remember.. but i will make a note if i get it back.

fox holes are holes in the ground, but they are only bi enough for 2 perhaps 3 men. they could be the eqivalent of trenches, but for mg and mortar teams?

exactly just what i ment  ;) cuse i am pretty mad over wy u cant fit a mg in a trench? how cant a person use a mg in a trench its like using it in a building!

here i am again writing in a werry old thread, but! its only so there wont be more threads taking space. i got a suggestion about the bunker thingy if u guys not allready started working on it or even finnished it, u said some times u dont want the russians so much defensive with bunkers and stuff like the brittish. sp how about a special skill? russian infantery, all or just some special types, will be able to flank/getaround flush out a enemy bunker and mae it russian. just like taking a empty mg but if u flush it u must take it, no exeptions. does this sound ok or am i just thinking over kill? another thing i would like to ask how its going with the trenches? will there be some and did it work to build them as the sandbags in long rows, or u meyby havent tested that yet, please response with answers and such.  ;)

OBS!
 the capturing of bunkers will be like capturing flags, there will be a bvar above the bunker and the squad capturing will not return fire. one more thing: a bad thing about this is that it's not so often a enemy will put a bunker facing it self so the captured bunkers will not be so usefull against anyone but your own troops. ^^ sorry about i didnt think about that before.
