Hi there,

First: There's basically nothing wrong with the design decision to have snipers use arty strikes, BUT:

I just want to bring to your attention that the sniper Artillery comes down after 1 seconds, making dodging this ability impossible if several snipers use this skill at once on the same spot, killing everything at this position.
Mg's, mortars, infantry - everything.

I'm sure the reason for the first shell hitting that early is because it is the Forward Observed Artillery Strike from the British officers.

Solution: replace this skill by another arty barrage type, like commando arty. It's similar in power, but that the first shell arrives after 3 seconds instead. In the current state it's broken IMO, cause 2 snipers can instagib multiple squads with the first shells (-> arty strike on the same area).

To reproduce this, just build a sniper squad, then research the Artillery spot upgrade and use it on an area.

Its a bug you all copied :D haha.  Nothing balanced about instant arty.. cough... strafe... cough.. officer arty.

Or the fact that sniper arty is cheaper than FOO arty on Brits. It starts cheaper on the first use, and only then costs less than half as much on the second, a third as much on the third, a quarter etc,  etc.

That's why I posted it on the bugs forums. Why the hell was this moved to balancing?!

yeah the sniper arty in 1.0 was horrible hehe the single upgrade per squad made it kind of better but still... I'm aware that it's difficult to predict how things turns out but basically with the abilities being munitions free the soviets pay for them by mp, so you can have a satchel for 150mp, demo for not sure how much partisans cost :) etc. my point is that you should avoid combination of cheep (spameable) units and expensive abilities (1 sec arty from brit cost 150)

on the side note I was wondering how much is the EF influenced by original COH? I mean if the relic finally realise that they should do something about the imba shit they've currently got in 2.601 and decide to fix the arty for example does this influence the arty from snipers?  I hope you get my point. Unfortunately I didn't see that coming as it looks like relic can't just adjust the units stats (which will be enough or at least something) like you've did within couple of days.

great work with the mod it's good to have something "fresh".

they fixed the Arty in 1.04, now granted its still rather annoying to have 6 sniper squads roll into your  base and have them all drop all over your base... but its better then having 10 roll up... and in all honesty I would have it like the command squad ability so it won't be used to take down the base, but to weaken the enemy enough to bust through... I remember in one game against a Wehr/PE/Wehr I ended up with 8 Squads out of 10 with the upgrade... I sniped the PE flaks and strolled in... waited for him to retreat to kill me and dropped arty on him destroying Bldgs 2,3, and 4 of PE and Bldgs 4 and 3 of the Wehr players (respectively) and 1 Panther...(guy was to busy typing calling me a hacker to micro it I guess) But the snipers should not be used as a singular force to destroy an enemy base... but I digress...
