Title: HMG team for SU

Soviet Union is lacking a HMG team so I would like to suggest if they could recive such a team at some point, I was thinking that they could be equipped with Maxim 1910 machine gun.

I think their Machine Gun is the T-90, but i also wouldnt mind a MG for the Russians, maybe one that is mounted like an AT gun that a team has to drag aroundand set up, and not able to go into buildings?

T-90

A modified version of the T-70, bearing a different main armament. It is armed with two 12.7mm DShKs, suited for anti-aircraft and anti-infantry duties.

Yahuh, its a tank with 2 Russian Machine guns poking out of it, and if im not mistaken, the last game i played using it it supressed a few german squads.

You mean that while germans and americans have infantry HMG teams, Soviets have a T-90? so the T-90 replaces HMG team in soviet faction? :/

I never had any success with the T-90. Used it once, took 2 long bursts to kill a single Grenadier, did nil to an Armored Car, never suppressed them though.


Anyway, I think we should get an M1910 on wheels. It'll be unique in that it acts like an AT Gun in terms of movement.

They even have a model for it already made (http://www.easternfront.org/uploads/Kamikaza22/Maxim%20m1910.jpg).

I suppose to get that model in Soviet MG bunkers, wich now have "Wikkers .303" :)

No i never said that, i said they had a mobile, quick, and effective dual Machine Gun peice of light armor.  I dont have any facts to support it, but as i was playing my T-90 was shooting at a group of suppressed, but not pinned, group of Volks Grens and Pios, at a GLANCE i assumed the T-90 was the one doing the pinning as it was the only one i saw fireing at it, but i could be wrong.

The T-90 does suppress, yes. I don´t know if it is as good suppressing as a normal HMG... BUT IT IS A GODDAMN LIGHT TANK. YOU CAN MOVE IT AROUND WITHOUT SETTING UP, and it can´t be stolen to boot...

Maxim 1910 will be a bitch to animate, but there are other Tripod MG's we can use... DS-39, DP-28, DSHK and an AA Maxim. I think we may opt for the DS-39, it was quite rare and crappy, but it will look unique and had a much higher fire rate than a Maxim and DP-28. DSHK would be badass, but I think its far too bulky for the animations to look good. I dunno, we'll have to see... it'll be a case of trial and error.

At least, the russians have to be lacking something. The got almost everything already. Sniper, Heavy art., mortals, heavy tanks, strong inf, a support truck, a PAK, a commander which can call in art. o.ô for nothing .. just to name a few. take a look one the other factions, they dont have everything as well. SO even if they had in 1944, they shouldnt get it here ingame, just for balance and gameplay. Same was made to Wehr and the other factions as well. so please, NO MG.

Yeah I dont think the Soviets need a HMG team, they've got the T-90 for that.

It would be cool to see the Maxim in the bunkers though, wouldn't take that much animating I dont suppose, just a fire one really. But then I'm no expert, and I'm sure someone can tell me how wrong I am on that one  ;D
