Your last 3 links just appear to make something appear in German.
-
yea i know, it has disappeared
-
that jeep looks nice i belive it shuld be able to transport troops(like bren carrier) insted of having a mg(like american jeep) it would be more "acuret" i belive, or then it culd be an uppgrade that gives it a mg(again like the bren cerrier)

ГАЗ-64 or ГАЗ-67

No need to re-use units already ingame when the real Soviets had one of the richest and most diverse selection of homegrown vehicles.
-
The Soviet faction still don't have scout light vehicle like Jeep, Kettenkrad, Bren Carrier, Motorcycle. All factions have such vehicle.
And I think that БА-64Б is the best for this role.
-
Then why would we use a Jeep? That is the very symbol of the US Army. We would prefer something which is much more Soviet such as the BA-64.
-
Did I say to use "Jeep"? :o
ГАЗ-64, ГАЗ-67, БА-64Б, М-72 - wide choice.
-
We have a BA-64 model, I made some skins for it, but I'm not sure if we'll add it at this late stage. Can always push...
-
i would like to see the ba-64 in the mod.
the reason: i miss a mg or something armed with a mg in the early game for the red army ;)
-
Will there even be MG infantry if so will the be armed with the Russian Maxim mounted on the wheeled carriage?
-
Read the Ultimate Guide, and you will find your answer.
-
The Maxim is quite small, I don't think there's animations available to fit it. Personally, if we add an MG, i'd prefer a DShK on a tripod.
-
Tripod? I never see soviet ДШК on tripod. It used a two-wheeled trolley, similar to that developed by Sokolov for the Maxim

-
Type 'DShK' into google images then.
-
it's postwar ДШКМ or an anti-air version, not of infantry.

This the one your talking about?
Personally I dont mind waiting for you guys to finish this vehicle,
-
It isn't necesarily that it takes extra time to put the vehicle in. The Soviets are already well balanced without a light vehicle. Who needs special equipment for recon when you have an unlimited amount of Conscripts?
-
Go play CoH, you will find...
Flakvierling - Anti Air, primarily used in an Anti-Infantry role
Wirblewind - Anti Air, primarily used in an Anti-Infantry role
.50 Quad - Anti Air, primarily used in an Anti-Infantry role
Bofors - Anti Air, primarily used in an Anti-Infantry role
See a pattern emerging? A tripod DShK wouldn't be out of place.
This is from 1941... looks quite capable of shooting infantry.

I am not against tripod. I simply said that it was rarity. I think that green Maxims on tripod will be good too, for example.
P.S. The Soviet is't "well balanced". There is no systematic. For example, your Red Army doesn't have anti-sniper unit.
-

i agree with WartyX, conscripts can be used for recon, because they dont cost any population and can be produced in massive numbers because of that
-
P.S. The Soviet is't "well balanced". There is no systematic.
What makes you say that?
-
Well, a balance isn't only a differentiation of Tiers. There is what I call as gameplay roles.
Scout units are first vehicles in a game and they are anti-snipers. Who needs Kettenkrad when you have the Scout Car? But we need it because there is a system. We can build Kettenkrad always, but it is unarmed. And we need some building for the Scout Cars.
A number of roles is same in all armies. An example of roles is an AI-tank role: Ostwind, Crocodile, Panzer IV of the PE. Of course, roles can be mixed or distribute (as British do), but a sum of all roles are always same.
But, possibly, there is a small exception for doctrines ^_^
Who needs Hordes of Conscripts and a handful of guards if they have a same role, but only different powers? Should be different capabilities (is it a right word?), not just different powers. For example, Volks are a closebattle units (after an upgrade), and Grenadiers aren't and can be an AT-infantry. It is different roles, not just the "veterans and newbies" idea.
And last: every units should can be useful even in a late game, because all roles are unique in army.
-
Conscripts are useful late game. The Shock Factor of being able to triple your infantry force (which is going to be primarily Strelky and Guards) with minimal cost is a massive advantage.
Guards have a strong anti-tank role (only being mediocre at killing infantry) and Strelky can be upgraded with SMG's and LMG's to take on light vehicles and infantry.
There are 'anti-sniper' units - even if it isn't a complete clone of the current factions as you are suggesting. Large squads are used as cannon fodder to draw fire, by which your Sharpshooter team guns down the German Sniper.
-
This is one reason why I think this mod is goin to be so interesting.
The fact that the Soviets dont just have an "opposite" to what the current factions have. You need new tactics and the lot if you want to win with them. Like the difference between the original factions and the Opposing Fronts ones.
Cheers
-
Yes, fresh meat for snipers is interesting. :P
An "opposite" is in the WCII. CoH factions need a systematic analysis. Do not confuse this with a mirror system.
Especially, I am afraid that only one tactic will be possible for the Soviets.
-
how can you say something like "unbalanced" without playing EF before? it's hard to figure out how everything works ingame. lets just wait and see...
another question: is there a / what's the russian detector unit?
-
There is no detector unit... yet. If we ever add the BA-64, that will probably be the detector unit.
-
detector=scout unit =)
Yes, all is balanced. ;)
I'm studying a systems analyst at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Management. I look theoretically at it. Of course, you can do/make something, and then check it in practice. And Russian do so, but you're not Russians :)
We found that there is no detector, I think it's not all problems.
But seriously, I know that you do not listen to me. Of course, you will not remake your tremendous work. Just pay attention to detector.
-
i just asked cause i was curious not because i think a detector unit is needed.
Who needs special equipment for recon when you have an unlimited amount of Conscripts?
makes sense to me as well...
BA or whatever scouting unit would be a great reward unit (like in ToV) for those who desperately need it :D
