i'm not shure if this is the right subject for this thread but it was the closest i culd find. is it so that the russians will replace the americans and/or the american campain? and so wil it be like OF that it will replace the original game so u have to reinstal to cet it back to the original version or will it be another game so u can play both the mod and the original? and i belive u shuld get an FAQ section

This mod will work like a mod. Meaning it won't overwrite anything so no uninstalling things or anything like that. About the Americans it is not replacing them, you will be able to play as the Americans, British or Soviets.

It will work the same as Opposing Fronts does, you will be able to choose which team you want to play as.

So... Just how far INTO the project are you guys? Like half way done, 3/4s done, etc. Not trying to be a jerk by asking.. Just curious.

Well, we cant really gauge our progress by any clear measure as the tools we need are still not out, and even when they are, we cant predict any bugs that may arise so, put it this way, we have done as much as we can, its waiting for Relic that is slowing us down.

We're waiting for the new object editor (OE) to come out so we can attach animations to the new Vehicle models. Without that, we'd only be able to release the mod with some half animated Assault guns :P

Apparently, the OE is set for release a week or so after Tales of Valour is released, by then we'll have most of the Vehicles done and skinned and I'll probably be teaching myself how to animate.

I had thought that the OE had already been released though?
I'm not sure how all that works because I have no idea how to mod. But what I'm getting.. Is that you need the OE to give your totally new vehicles animation? Like where it can fire and move? And ToV comes out in about 3-4 months and by that time all those grey vehicles will have skins and will be ready to be animated?

Relic did release the object editor at one point, however it was recalled pretty soon after due to not having any documentation, meaning nobody really know how to use it, even though a few hardy modders did. So, now they are hopefully going to release a new full version with documentation on how it all works. The OE (object editor) lets you attach animations among other things, so right now we could put a tank ingame, but it cant do anything so to speak, the OE would allow us to give it animations and stuff so it act as a proper unit.

Meh, lack of documentation won't stop the Soviet work machine...
