Title: Tips on performance?

I think this belongs in tech support, but 1) this is not a serious problem impairing gameplay very much 2)This is a regular CoH thing...

I just wanted to know, what graphical options can I turn up or down to get better performance (without making the graphics look like smashed poo) out of:

2GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8500GT (+1GB)
AMD Athlon64 3500+

(monitor is 4:3, 17'' with max res at 1280x1024)

My settings are (respectively on the screen)

High                        High
High                        Low
None                       Low
Medium                    Low
Low                         Low
High                        Low
OFF                          ON
Low                         (|---------)  Model Detail

Any tips?  (NO OVERCLOCK :( )

With these settings I can run 1 on 1 very well, 2 on 2 with people well, 2on2 with comps on a small map at 15-30 fps, 3 on 3 people/comps at >20 fps and 4 on 4 I should just drop to stop people from cussing me out for not having a 'real computer'.

Shadow quality is a massive CPU hog. You can get a huge increase in performance by turning them off/down.

shadow OFF (even low DOUBLES process work)
also AA off
and effects to low
refelctions to low (*just as good as high)

Got it. Shadows will be turned off. Everyone that plays against/on my team thank you. Anything else? I know AA is an extreme hog.
