Title: EF, Soviet and Ostheer Soundtrack/Music Recommendation
Post by: UltimateTobi on February 02, 2010, 04:35:17 PM
A friend of mine did a soundtrack compilation which I uploaded on YouTube to show you, the community and the developers.

I've cut it into 3 parts, it's 30 mins. of music, I really recommend to listen to most of the music, there're great and less great songs, but most of 'em would match in the menu as a soundtrack and some would match in-game for Soviet and Ostheer as battle-/in-game music.

I hope you enjoy it and maybe you implement some of that stuff into EF.

If the developers want the soundtracks, I could upload the 30 mins. long .wmv and give you the download link.

Ofcourse if someone else want that too, feel free to "download" it from YouTube or ask me for uploading it.

Again: I hope you enjoy. :):

Its good, but there's too many vocals. I protested vocals in the beginning (although it didn't seem to work since Apex had the final say in everything... we saw how that worked out in v1.0 game balance which I also protested, rofl), and I'll keep protesting. vCoH has no vocals, personally the current music from 'Hunt for Red October' makes me want to vomit blood everytime I hear it... its corny and sounds like a Christmas carol.

I'm still holding out some hope that a genius will come along and make us some unique music.

Oh, come on, bro. It´s not THAT bad. As far as inspiration for a game goes, it works fine. At least in the menu, of course, vocals during game are just not good.

Yeah I actually agree. The hunt for red october is great.

Could use that song too. :)

I hope they can use these red army choirs for the campaign, it'd be so cool. If you can add them its great.  ;)

What about this: Russian Red Army Choir - O Field, My Field (Polushko Pole) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfBeeVKhPHE&feature=related#lq-lq2-hq)

Agree, in all history war is represented by deep, instrumentals, maybe a choir wouldnt hurt but surely no clear vocals. It ruins the mood.

thats my first post in this forum :-) so, hello everybody.
Right to the point:

Red October sux (especially because of lyrics)
Where there is a song, there can be an instrumental version, I am not a Russian speaker, I do understand the language.

Some of these songs may fit into the game, listen, then think. It is sure THFtRO should go.

Sacred war - instrumental - could be better imho, but not bad
The Sacred War (instrumental) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maYCStVzjDs#lq-lq2-hq)

sung
The Holy War -The Sacred war (HQ sound) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK2T2aPooy4&playnext_from=TL&videos=ckjB7vocDG8#lq-lq2-hq)

Red Army Chorus - On the march (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbtXT9I25TY&playnext_from=TL&videos=9eAUmzMvpak#lq-lq2-hq)

sung
Polyushka Polye - Red Army Choir - CCCP USSR (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IU49Y81EvYM&playnext_from=TL&videos=gvfMEXqIBDw#lq-lq2-hq)

Also possible to use could be I think Marš Preobraženskogo polka at least in its instrumental version, or with changed lyrics..."Preobrazhensky march" :-)
Преображенский Марш (Петровский Гимн России) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIIT0WTe0nw#lq-lq2-hq)

this version is somewhat "too"artistic

sung
Red army choir - Our fast tanks ! (Танки быстроходные) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW7bLClyKZY#lq-lq2-hq-vhq)

instrumental Farewell of Slavianka (instrumental) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5lvmV2pH7M#lq-lq2-hq-vhq)

The USSR and the Russian Federation Anthem.
If yes then we need the USA Anthem too :)

Sacred war - instrumental

could be cool as a "soviet victorious" song played when a game is won by the soviets.

Post by: HyperSniper999 on June 16, 2010, 03:59:57 AM
Tomas, I agree that lyrics ruins an otherwise great song.

But is it possible to even change victory music for Soviets only? It would be stupid playing Americans, winning and getting Sacred War.

I like the Preobrazhensky March, but since it was a march for one of the Tsar's guard regiments I doubt the Bolsheviks would've liked it.

Post by: TomaSkTemplar on June 16, 2010, 06:07:09 PM
pity is I cant find the march of Stalin´s artillery.

instrumental I mean

god of war mentioned there :-)

also the soviet version of "To the Glory of the Fatherland", Po dolinam i po vzgorjam - partisan song

♫ 1917 - The Tsarist Army Marches (white army) ♪ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEmPaTc589M&feature=related#lq-lq2-hq)

it features the white amy instrumental version, the second is the soviet sung version, which cut out the best out of it imo.(1:40-2:24) but since the soviet was altered in some "tunes" also, it means it would be best to get soviet instrumental version. It seems rather difficult with so much hype about the RA choir. Theyre quality but not everyone needs their voices all the time.

Hopefully one of the Devs will read this..

I've actually applied on the Applications board to be the composer for this mod's soundtrack but not had a reply yet.

Having said that, some of the suggestions here are cracking so if they want a ready made score then that doesn't seem like a bad idea!
