Title: soviet voices in game
Post by: vengefulnoob on December 22, 2008, 01:21:55 AM
Since ur creating a new army and voices, here are some ideas for unit voices.

commisar creation: "watch your words, comrades, the commisar has arrived"
Commisar move: "I shall lead them for the motherland"
Attack: "Forwards, or I'll shoot you myself!"
Killing conscripts "traitor! Kill the traitors!"

Conscript build: "new recruits! Poor maggots..."
Move: "we'll do it."
Conversation: "how come I didn't get a rifle, sir?"
"I'm scared, tovarish" (excuse no acryllic)
Attack: "URRRAH!"
Build def: "do I have a choice?" "shelter from their bullets or ours?"

Regular build: "reinforcements from siberia."
Move: "yes comrade commander."
Capture: "at once sir" (finished) "one step closer to Berlin!"
Fight: "kill those fascist bastards!"
Conversation: "do you think we can trust the Americans? I read Pravda: they say..." "he was just hanging there I the street! No, I will never forget Stalingrad!"
Build def: "some rest from the dogs!"

Guards build: "the red army's finest, kommandir!"
Move: "we'll take it for our lost comrades"
Attack: "heading the advance"
Death: "bury me here! I'll be a milestone to Berlin!" "tell sasha I died a hero!"
Conversation: "when the first tank explodes, get off and look for the bastard with a panzerfaust!"

Selection (for all) da? Daktoshna! Serving the soviet union!

Haha nice, you have been thinking. But I can feel you watched Enemy at the gates to much :P.
And not to be picky, but it should be taktoshna.

i think some one shuld say "for the motherland!" and/or "not one step backvards!". one thing i read in a book was that the germans undercover behinde enemylines fered the devils with a green cross on their hat, they are some cinde of russian SS.(<- i was meaning NKVD) well these guys often said: Stoi Kto! followed with a burst of gun fire, for those who know russian and understands my spelling it means like stop! or halt! or whatever. u culd use that for when the guards finds an enemy.

ty for feedback...

Another funny voice from coh is always the infantry when fighting tanks with rifles: "Keep shooting! Use the molotovs! Perhaps we can slow it down!!"

I also like the voice response from both COH games, relic simply did an outstanding job...
and i also always wanted to make some voice responses for an RTS lol! well here it is:

engineers:

unit built: "engineers ready!", "need something fixed?"

unit selected: "kakdila?", "were listening"

unit selected in battle: "comrade commisar we hear you!", "yes commisar!"

unit selected in battle low HP: "i thought we came here for repairs!", "engineers here! trying to survive!"

move order: "ok comrades lets go", "right, ok", "walk here! walk there! do you even need repairs?"

move order in battle: "ok! well try not to get killed!", "common, we must go!" "engineers! follow me!"

move order in battle low HP: "we will die before we get there!", "engineers! run to where i point!"

cap point order: "well take it, commisar!", "engineers, make this flag go up"

cap point order in battle: "yuri! go lift that flag!", "take the point so we can get out of here!"

cap point order low HP: "you care about the point more then us?!", "engineers! take the point for the motherland!"

attack order: "kill thouse facsist dogs!", "Fire! throw a wrench at them if you must!" "are you sure this will work?"

attack order low HP: "comrades! its been an honour!", "No retreat! we die for the motherland!"

attack order on enemy pioneers: "lets show them whose the best engineers!"

killed enemy: "you are now COMBAT engineers!", "we did it!", "those facsist are nothing!"

repair order: "finaly an order fit for our job!", "repair that vehicle", "holy shit! look what the germans did to it!"

repair order in battle: "if this vehicle is finished then were finished!", "repair it! ignore the fascist!", "yuri! give me the wrench! ~pause~ what do you mean you threw it at the enemy!?"

finished repairs: "its fixed!", "repairs finished!", "just leave it like this, they wont notice"

retreat order: "ok, back to base", "common we need to return"

retreat order in battle: "retreat! engineers retreat!", "were not ment to fight! run!", "the germans are gonna run over us if we dont run!"

retreat order in battle low HP: "RUN! RUUUUN!", "FALL BACK! RETREAT!"

place mine order: "ok, mining detail", "yes yuri! put the big round thing on the ground"

garrison building order: "inside comrades!", "maybe well find some vodka in there"

garrison building order in battle: "Quick! hide inside!", "get in and fire through the window!"

evacuate building: "this place stinks anyway", "senya! get your ass off this bed! you cant win the war with dreams!", "yes commisar were getting out"

evacuate building order in battle: "you think your safe in here!? get out!", "outside! common!", "engineers get out!"

AND FINALLY:

squad fully replaced: "were back to full strengh", "hey! new guy! i hope you brought a wrench"

WOOO this is hard work! well this is it! i hope you enjoyed!  :)

The sound stage will take a while to do, I think we'll need to make a list of actions/scenario's that require speech (like shooting, repairing, moving etc) and make a few corresponding sound files for each to mix it up abit. I'm aware that right now there are 1000's of dialogue clips in CoH, but I guess we're only doing 1 faction so it shouldn't be too bad.

For the moment and in its Beta stage, we may just be using sound files from the Russian version.

what if the mod will be a success? will you make new sounds for the russian faction?

We'd probably do it even if it isn't :P

well i dont know if ur going to ad NKVD troops but if you do or make some troops that would be like the german knight cross holders heres some sugestions.

visual on ennemy: Stoi kto! ratatatata!!! (<- that last is gunfire and incase u dont understand what i was trying to whrite in russian it cinda means stop/halt/freese/ or get your hands in the air or we shoot but we will shoot u any way)

Movment: Dawai! Dawai! (Faster! Faster!)

Movment:Prestre Turak! (Faster Idiot!)

Order to enter building/mg/mortar/at-cannon: Spasibo Tovarich! (thanks comrade!)

Movment: Paja hali! (lets go)

Attack: Job tvojemadj, Sabaka! (go home fuck your mother, dog!)

that last one is probebly werry inapropiet su u shuld not use it, this was mostly just to show of my fhew words of werry werry bad russian.

Well, NKVD troops and Waffen-SS is a good analogy.
Wehrmacht in computer games is available faction who isn’t absolute evil, but Waffen-SS isn’t presented because mainly SS made crimes in WWII. The Soviet Union (and other the Allies) made it too, but anyone didn't make difference between NKVD and the Red Army. :(

“Stoy, kto idet?” – literally “Stop! Who go?” I think it isn't a good variant.
“Bystree, durak!” – “Faster, idiot!”
“Davay, Davay” – literally “Give, give”, mean “Go, go!”
“Poyehali!” – literally “ride” or “go” by something with wheels, mean “Lets go!”
“Yob tvoyu mat, sobaka!” – literally “Fuck your mother, dog!”
I think it isn’t the better list.

i think i gave a full list for the engineers although i think its missing some but
nonetheless i got stuff for the sniper, katyusha and t-34 if you want, as you can see im quite bored.
however i think theallmightyone liked the wrench joke lol  ;)

looking forword for the mod.

Would it be illegal to take Russian voices from the Call of Duty 1 - 2 series.  :-\

When sniper kills a german "....one closer to Vasili" whispers.

When you give the retreat order "No!...Please, i'd rather stay!"

Grenade throw "Remember the potato training victor!"

Killing Germans "Facist pigs!"

German VO against Russians:

MG as Russians approach "Gunther, I'll get 10 ten this time watch"

Soldiers killing Russians, "Give my regards to the devil, you fucks!"

SS against russians "If they surrender, shoot them anyway"

Tiger killing T-34 "Whose superior now?"

Elefant after getting 5+ kills "Remember to add all these rings when we get back to HQ"

OMG people make too many curses in their voice respons suggestings... you think this are rifleman?!
they dont have to have curses them to be cool or funny.
check my engineer suggestion on the first page of this thread to see what i mean, meanwhile heres something ive been thinking about:

The russian sniper.

Unit built: "the russian grim reaper si here", "my rifle is ready, commisar"

Unit selected: "yes comrade", "sniper here", "who'sit gonna be? eh?"

Unit selected in battle: "sniper here!", "hunting facsists!", "yes comrade commisar!"

Unit selected in battle low HP: "they are trying to over run my posistion!", "Ah shit, im hit!", "this is not good!"

Unit ordered to move: "i hope i didnt come here for recon..", "right, heading over there now", "i could have been a tank ace you know?" (note the german sniper saying " i could have beed a lufftwafe ace you know?")

Unit ordered to move in battle: "commisar!", "im repositioning!", "But they will see me!"

Unit ordered to move in battle low HP: "ill try!", "i dont know if i can!", "i cant move with this wound!"

Unit ordered to cloak: "digging in to the snow..", "what you cant see CAN hurt you"

Unit ordered to cloak in battle: "disapearing!", "ok! im hiding!"

Unit ordered to cloak in battle low HP: "its my only hope!"

Unit ordered to attack in battle: "yes... i see him", "ok, new target", "my scope is on his head..."

Unit ordered to attack in battle low HP: "even the grim reaper has his limits!!", "cant aim! it hurts!", "yes comrade! for the motherland!"

Unit ordered to garrison building: "a better firing position yes?", "thats a good hiding place".

Unit ordered to evacuate building: "time to go hunting", "ok, leaving shit hole as ordered"

Unit ordered to garrison building in battle: "taking cover inside", "right! ok!"

Unit ordered to evacuate a building in battle: "What?! now?!", "yes! fighting like a man as ordered!"

Unit ordered to retreat: "sniper, heading back to HQ", "going back to base".

Unit ordered to retreat during battle: "what?! but i almost broke my record!", "falling back!", "Got it!"

Unit ordered to retreat during battle low HP: "retreating! nothing else that i can do!", "i will live to fight another day!"

Unit killed last squad member (killed an enemy unit): "ok.. that makes it my 137's kill", "dammit! i lost count!"

P.S Unit ordered to retreat during battle low HP is quite lame.. might just use the Unit ordered to retreat during battle...

THANKS FOR READING (that is if you did).  :)

Sniper team spots a unit: "No, no, no! won't they ever learn not to stand up?" "Don't poke your head out when I'm around!"

Enemy Sniper shoots soviet unit: "where did that come from?" "WHERES ZAITSEV?!" "I hope to god you spotted him, volodya!"

sniper spots enemy sniper: "There he is! Shoot to kill." "cautious, but not cautious enough."

I think they do...

At least they do when the enemies kill a unit
Title: Re: soviet voices in game

in many games the "speaker" voice allerts you if an anemy is spotted or if an unit is under fire, though a cool thing with CoH is that when a unit is onscreen you hear his voice, if hes just out of screen you hear him scream, if he is far away (other side of map) you her his voice in radio. so noobs "spotting" voice culd be added as the voice that notifies about enemies when the unit seing them is on screen, though i'm not sure if CoH has a "speaker" voice...

Trotsky said “В лице наших комиссаров… мы получили новый коммунистический орден самураев, который — без кастовых привилегий — умеет умирать и учит других умирать за дело рабочего класса.” so officer or commissar can say: “I can die and teach other to die for the cause of the worker class!”

If we make sounds for the mod, I would suggest this:
"The cat is dead, a tail is bald!" ("Коша сдохла, хвост облез!") for a moment when ИС-2 (JS-2) killed the Tiger.

German Call of Duty World at War Sounds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTQDBV2UJ5w#normal)

You could use some of that stuff for the voices of Soviets and Ostheer.
