Title: German and Soviet Unit Suggestions
Post by: CoBros on January 01, 2009, 02:26:50 AM
---German---
1. Jagdtiger (That would be god, though it couldnt go over bridges due to its weight.)
2. Hitlers Infamous 800mm Rail Gun(Like off map arty, just arties V1 rockets, these existed. Hitler used them during the battle of stalingrad)
3. Sturmtiger
4. Make those one bunkers at vierres ridge in vanilla COH buildable by engineers.
5. 20mm Gun (Like in Saving Private Ryan, which shot all the guys off that tiger)
6. Elephantus
7. V2 Rocket
8. Panzer III

---Russians---
1. Su76
2. Upgrade infantry with the PPSH and Dakuyasha
3. A Peasent Charge ability where for 120 seconds a constant loop of poorly trained and armed men charge at the desired location with no suppresion.

I agree, and perhaps when you make the snipers, they could be in 2 man squads, 1 sniper and 1 spotter so they have greater visibility when in buildings or locked down in a position.

Ok
1. The jagdtiger is used by panzer forces already
2. Leopard rail gun is unbalanced for a normal game (campaign missions maybe)
The team might use karl heavy mortar
3. The v2 is again too big: it would destroy the whole enemy base: it's too unbalanced

See german unit ideas for more info

i think that units that have molotov coktail shuld be able to do a "special attack" with it when dey sneek up on a tank and throw it down a hatch or into the Exhaust system. like the sticky bomb.

No the jagdtiger is not used by panzer forces, that is the jagdpanther, a tank hunter, a jagdtiger is just a monstrous heavy tank, only 70-80 were made and most there crews abandoned them, only a few were destroyed, and you guys could think about puttin in the m-28 tank destoyer for the russians.

fair enough; I know more about soviets than germans
Point is the team are concentrating more on the soviets first, then the Germans

Good idea for molotovs almighty, itd be more effective against open topped vehicles: bye bye mortar halftrack...

yes absolutley but i was thinking meybe they culd find holes in tigers and ther tnaks too. a panzer III or IV with a turret gunner would be a good target cuse the hatch is open, just hope the gunner dont see you.

U mean like in call of duty 1 and saving Ryan?

It'd be hard to code perhaps, but I guess it could balance taking the mg42 (extra mg/better armor) hmmmm....

Or just being able to flame somebody out of a tank....

sure, but then I've already suggested the ot34 which would do that nicely (flamethrower + main gun)

Yes, I think so: there was a film where Richard Attenborough used grenades to take out bofors aa guns and in a recent book a Palestinian boy shoved a watermelon in the barrel of an israeli merkava...

It's possible to make the grenade have a critical attack vs a tank barrel (destroy the gun). But without the fully working OE, we could not add the animation of a guy throwing it down, it would be simply thrown as a grenade/sticky.

As an upgrade, i do find the ability to use Molotovs against armour/open top vehicles interesting, and would be useful as a later game upgrade, to rejuvenate the Conscripts giving them new power in a late game world. MG34 gunners could be killed or possibly a tank could stop moving/shooting (possibly temporary, maybe new guy moving into position to gun).

Meanwhile, the ability might not be needed, being a flame weapon, it is effective against light vehicles (as are flamethrowers) including halftracks. Maybe an optional upgrade could be added that forces the Molotov to target vehicles/buildings rather than place on the ground like grenades).

some opinions on my other suggestions would be nice...  :-\ they've been left there almost a month now... Comments?

Anyways, nice idea almighty: looks like it might make the mod. Nevermind that it is essentially suicide without about 3 squads...  ;D
