I was kind of disappointed to not see this gun among any of the Soviet Infantry.
It is true that it is not so different from the PPSh-41, but it has a smaller clip and less recoil/more accuracy. I think it would be a suitable weapon to be used by the Sturmovie Ingenery and the Seargent of the Shock Guards squad.
It's not a very big thing, but I think that many small details like this make something that is merely good, into something that is great. It would add some much needed uniqueness and individuality to the Soviet Army instead of just having every single SMG used be the PPSh-41.

Uh... the PPS is in game. Tank guards have it in this patch, in patch 1.05 the Command Squad will get a PPS upgrade too.

The size is a little off, the gun was traditionally fired by using the clip as a foregrip, but there's no such animation in CoH.
Oh, and part of unfortunate screenshot timing, you get to see the new heavy tankovy upgrade icon :P
-
Ah, my apologies.
I've never actually used the Tank Guards before, but I'm glad to hear that it's in. I just discovered the mod a week or two ago, and haven't seen all the doctrine units yet.
The addition of the gun to the command squad should make them much more viable in the long run. As it is now, I usually just let them die since I can usually get more use out of using the pop cap on another squad.

Command squad is one the coolest things about EF in my opinion. Gives so much more character when you have a 'hero unit'...especially once vet is implemented and you care alot more about keeping these guys alive....
And its the only decent way of implementing an officer model in game...no Brit officer bullshit lol
-
That was a sneaky way to tease some new features, Burro ;)

That is so true... even when playing against Soviet :) Axis player needs to guard every movement of these buggers lol
I think it could be even more cooler if receives some minor special ability after a doctrine is choosen (maybe fixed to a veterancy too) - like Ketten/Schwimm. F.e.:
- Propaganda: passive ability, when infantry around it receives slightly less suppress
- Urban: when inside building +20 sight (like spotter ability of sniper team)
- Breakthrough: aside Mortar barrage receives Smoke barrage ability

Lol its a special teaser :) to raise excitement about new patch. I have feeling that there will be some changes in Soviet, that is why I'm waiting with completion of my "Red Army field guide" - Soviet vs Axis strat graphs ;)
About Soviet Commander - those guys are tough nut to crack that is why they seemed OP... if they have standard armor+HP they would be OK I guess.
-
do the Russians have the PPSH???? I cant remeber, I never upgrade my troops, so I cant remember.

Yes, in the armory you can upgrade strelky for 200MU, and then new strelky squad can be upgrade with 2 DP-28 ( in fact its the british bren) or 5/6 PPSH-41.

- Heavy Tankovy upgrade : *FINALLY* :) Awesome guys ;)
- PPS : Another welcome addition. Although animation is off,
it's still appreciated effort, and welcome :)
- OOH! I really REALLY like what's his name's suggestion :
That similar to PE's Kettenkrad, the officer squad gets an
extra ability according to chosen strategy :)
- Speaking of Officer's barrage. Yes, it is Op :p
