Title: Multiplayer errors
Post by: Akalonor on May 02, 2010, 03:24:37 AM
Cranial and I were planning to have a quick match but when we invited each other to a match it said we had incompatible versions even though both of us had 1.04 and 2.601, has this happened to anyone else?

We think we've solved this problem but it's still open for discussion. Any help would be appreciated.

After uninstalling skin packs it STILL didn't work.

Any ideas?

Do this, when the other person hosts, go to multiplay games and find the game (and click it, once to get up the info part). Where it normally says map info etc (top right of the info part) there will now say "Game Info" and some text after it, what does it say?

We'll check back later.

But it seems when One of us host a game, the other can't even SEE it.

I'll turn my filter off and try and find it.

I can see the game, but it says incompatible versions, I even re-installed EF entirely with all updates and it Still didn't work.

Okay extremely strange, On my computer all WM AI soldiers have something like
60$ no key for Volks, About the Volks, they have 10 members to a squad , and the Pios so far have 5 members to a squad!
Could this be an effect of having BK mod installed aswell?

Does these 10 squad members occurs in normal CoH play also?

If yes:
Reinstall CoH, your files have been modded (easier to reinstall then to fix).

If no:
Make sure that you do NOT have a "dataattrib" folder in "Company of Heroes/WW2", if you do, rename it to like "adasdawe".
If it still doesn't work, your best shoot is to reinstall CoH.

Usually when you uninstall programs, they leave stuff behind, even if not, if you copy a file on that directory that originally doesn't belong, after uninstalling it'll stand, thus, preventing the folder from deletion. You must assure about this before reinstalling EF.

@Rizz
It's a no for both , there is a "Data" file but no "Dataattrib" if it makes any difference.

Okay I went with Blackbishops plan and it worked , So now everything works well in MP.
Only downside is when I join a game I get kicked out immediatly Haha.
