Hello and welcome back for another update of the Eastern Front Mod. We have lots of goodies to show you.
After many tanks in the past update, this time we'll show you some WIP pictures our queen of battle, the infantry:
Conscripts

Conscripts are the early infantry unit for the Soviet Union, armed with the Mosin-Nagant. They come in squads of 8, but they are ill-equipped and ill-trained. Trough a variety of upgrades, like the commissar, molotov cocktails or extra rifles, they can gain some considerable combat strength though. And there will be many of them. Trust me.

The standard infantry unit of the Red Army. Well disciplined and versatile, with upgrades like PPSh machine pistols or PTRD anti-tank rifles.
Major

Fearless and unforgiving, the Major and his command squad will lead the soviet troops into battle.
Sharpshooter

The sharpshooter will come together with an observer, making up the sharpshooter team. They have ambush and scouting abilities.
Maxim MG team

These guys will handle the soviet standard lafette HMG.
Heavy Mortar Team

Equipped with the soviet heavy 120mm mortar, these dudes will give you quite a bang for your buck.
ZIS-2 AT-Gun Team

The ZIS ATGs will be the fear of the german tanks.
Big Kudos to halftrack for skinning these. More of them are to come.
Okay, okay, no Eastern Front update without tanks. How about this one. BurroDiablo finished the IS-2 and it looks goood.

this is awsome the conscript is mt favorit :D if you ever meet me i think u shuld get much mahine guns to withstand my hughe amount of suecide attacks! btw i never realised that the misin nagant looks almost exactly like a lee eainfield, i must have missed it before i saw these photos ^^

Hey! i just found some thing to complain about! no one has fur hats! russians must have fur hats, a classic russian Ushanka is what some of the troops need expesialy if you are going ta ad some form of siberian troops. other from that perfect ;D

well all russians were not so goodly equiped, those who didnt have winter clothing had uniform in the winter and those who were lucky to have a winter uniform would probebly not take it of willingly. but if there will be patarsans they shuld have fur hats.

Eh. I think they look fine as they are. I say that just maybe think about putting fur hats on some of them. But they are the boss. Up to them. Just want the game to come outtttt where I can get some good ole' Soviet carnage going down!

In fact "ushanka" hat was a standart winter hat for the red army personell.

Very nice! I'm very impressed. But that sniper doesn't look quite right imo. The sniper should have a long overcoat and an ushanka.

People seem to want everyone to have a ushanka^^. But I do think the sniper should have a cape, but a ushanka would be very hot in summer.

well how hot do you realy thinkthe summer will get ower in russia? in siberia it is winter allmost all year round.

In moscow it can get 30 degrees in summer, quite hot in my opinion ;).

Its in celcius. Didnt think it can be hot in Russia eh? ;). You should take a trip to southern Russia in the summer, palms and blue water, its very nice. Just to bad that you cant travel free to ukraine and middle asian countries anymore, after Soviet union collapsed ::).

well the black sea is not some thing u think of as a tropical place but it realy is, a book i read about garman soldiers there ware some who was in russia and sudenly they found cammels, either they were werry lost or u must acsept that it is not so cold every were.

Russia Is the largest country in the world and the soviet union was even bigger: it covers such alarge area it's terrain and temperature vary hugely

but though mos tof it is werry cold, the biggest part of russia is siberia and the ground there is frozen all year round, my fourth grade teacher told me that :D

Not all of siberia is permafrost, I would say about 4/6 of siberia is permafrost.
Btw on the conscripts information, when it says it can be upgraded with rifles. Does this mean not all of them will have rifles when constructed? I hope not.

No! what makes you think that? i bet the uppgrade will give them dual weild, two rifles each for twice the fire power :)

ya i'm just kidding, but it sems cool if they didnt have one weapon each when you bought them.

I dont think they should. They only specific time infantry was without a rifle was during the moscow seige. The rest of the war there was no rifle shortage.
