I know this isnt the mapping thread..but this has more to do with the combo of EF+Great map = AWESOME experience...
Just played a 3v3 Skirmish, 2 Wehr+PE(me) vs. 3 Sov.
Holy crap.
Seelow is just a brilliant, brilliant map. That plus the vast waves of Sovvies coming at you just makes this mod so damn great!
Several times I saw literally CROWDS of conscripts coming at me, interspersed with Tanks, At guns, flamer squads, tank hunters - while mortar fire fell on my positions and a howitzer began to open up.
Ive learnt to get the hell out of the way and use PE's strengths - maneuver+fire.
This mod is great, and sometimes it can be AMAZING.

PS- I distinctly saw some sovs pick up an abandoned mg42...I thought sovs couldnt pick up enemy weaps?
Ill find a screenie...

Picking up small arms isn't the same as recrewing support weapons.

Ahh kk.

I have to disagree unfortunately.
I find most of the maps bar Tannenburg and Kursk quite dull gameplay wise. Although they usually look fantastic (Berlin!!!) I find that the map design was either a little uninspired and straight forward eg. Stalingrad. That or it is too cluttered or over-the-top like some of the maps featuring giant mountains to fight on.
I have to say I'm a huge fan of Whiteflash's work for this mod and hope he has time to work on some more maps.

It's a little bit too cluttered and complex.
-
pffff tannenberg is too rectangular and 'unnatural'.
seelow has variation, and a real focal point- if you control that height in the middle you can win the game.
BUT if you outflank you can drive a swift attack down into the enemy bases.
Now THAT ups the ante!
this should really be moved to the maps forum...

Seelow is one of the maps I'm on the fence on, not helped by the fact I lag majorly when my screen is over the middle hill.
Tannenberg is a fantastic map and should be in the 2v2 AT rotation which it may well be if it wins the map contest.
