i was playing a game as the Germans and all the Russians just started to retreat.
so one- can the Russians retreat now or is this a glitch
two- if its not a glitch then i think you should have it go back to ware they could not.
three if you decide not to change it then make it so they don't retreat at the first sign of trouble. an mg shoots at them for two seconds they retreat, a tank fires a round into a large group of them they all retreat, a mortar round lands near them and they all retreat its ridicules
-
The Soviet AI can retreat as a side-effect to allowing the Wehrmacht Forced Retreat abilities to work against the Soviets faction.
EF 1.20 will include retreat for human Soviet players.

Balance changes will obvious be applied to counter the increased survivability.

I am so glad you are adding the retreat feature,I know you will have rebalance untis when you make this modification in 1.20, but it will be worth it. Retreat is just way to intregal part of COH, and when every other faction can do it to save their units from a dumb attack decision, the soviets need it badly too.
One other suggestion, since we cant recrew paks, would adding the cloak feature be worthwhile, my biggest problem is that the infantry see the pak way before it ever gets a shot off, sometimes even when I keep it behind the lines. the cloak would allow at least one shot, becasue infantry always rush it.

well since you are officially going to add the retreat function then i hope you guys now what your doing as i don't think its a good idea but ill give it the benefit of the doubt. good luck
-
Wow screw that if the modders add retreat i will not download that patch
-
That was pretty mean........

Well what can I say? You guys voted retreat in, it was a difficult choice for us to make as devs.
-
How about one more vote to be sure. I got here after the vote was closed.
-
Getting a new vote would just be annoying.

Retreat is an integral part of CoH - it has to be in the mod. Besides, it's not like adding in the ability to recrew heavy weapons right? Retreat is already in the game but simply disabled :D

You know if they add retreat there going to take away something you like. I love being able to reinforce and garrison outposts. A good tactic is to start with one or two conscripts for capping, then later put them in outposts. They can get some decent kills from inside an outpost. They can even repel a flamer. Then just unload, reinforce and jump back in.

If you like not retreating that much, just don't click the button!

Outposts don't need to be removed, just tweaked a little. They need to take longer to build and should probably have a slight cost increase. They needn't change in function though.
