i love the tanks in ef and i love the fact that the developers made them from scratch, but theres still a lot of improvement to be made. For one, i would appreciate a lot more tiny details on the tank that just make it look more realistic in general.
Also, i think there's a real opportunity here for improvement. Not many tanks have camouflage skins in ef, but during ww2 many russian tanks did have camouflage. And really cool camouflage. one of my absolute favorite russian tank camouflages can be seen at this link:

hopefully u guys listen

Well, soviets rarely used camo on tanks...overall whitewash paint was used on the tanks but some times they got creative with it and made camo patterns instead.
White camo would look crap unless the map has snow. most maps don't. Green on the other hand looks good on any map, hence our choice.
As far as detail is concerned, we're doing our best i can assure you. If you want more detail or the camos you like...you better learn skinning and have a go yourself, then maybe you could help us if you can do better ;)
-
Thats not right: soviet did use camo on almost every tanks during winters. But I agree that they rarely use "summer" camo, only some guards division/regiment I guess. I will try to check these out ;)
I have a question for dev: can you make two models for one unit? I mean a model of T-34 for "green" map, and a model for "winter" map, but only camo change. Same would be applied for infantry, and camo would change with map. It is possible to make for COH engine? ???
-
nope, not possible.....and making new skins is very time consuming...time better spent creating new skins for NEW vehicles and infantry
Trust me, I know practically all the camos used by the soviets in the war ;)
-
While I also agree that implementing more skins would be a waste of time, I thought that it was actually possible to do so. For instance, the PE panthers have separate skins for different players. The first player has the standard black panthers and the second has a wehrmacht "silver type" panther. Maybe a thought if anyone wants to customise their own skins but it would simply be too much effort for something trivial for the devs.

Ok just curious about this :)

The game itself modifies the 'colour hue' for each player which also happens with EF, hence why you see different colours on vehicles and infantry.
And a sneak peak my latest skin, which you guys will get your hands on in the next patch :P

It says "Kill fashist murderer!" but I'm not sure about the last word, looks strange to me :)

You need to modify KV-2 the skin is not so good
-
Nice work :D!! I cannot wait for the next patch ;D!!!
-
I dont really like it, tanks didnt have random black patchs on them.

Those random black patches are called shadows. It is when light energy is blocked by something opaque in the way. You can see an example of this in real life if you go outside :P.

Regarding camo schemes, i really love the T34 tankriders camo :D (good job), but i really become abit dissapointed when upgrading to t34/85 and call in a not camo skin tank.
I think the t34/85 tankriders tank should have a camo skin also, it gives the call-in unit a sorta theme imo. Not only does it look kickass but it also helps players to quickly spot the difference between the call-in and a regular t34/85.
I found this t34/85 camo scheme on the internet, it was used during Lvov-Sandomierz offensive. The issue is the camo was probaly only used during that offensive, but i for sure don't care as long as the skin looks good.

Keep up the good work EF Skinners!
EDIT: you probably know all the soviet camo schmes, and have the references allready, so pls just consider this as a "gief camoskin for t34/85 Tankriders call-in tank suggestion.

I believe that image you posted is actually a T-34/76 not T-34/85...

Okay cool ??? ... anyway do anybody else agree with me it could be cool to have a camo skin for the t34/85 tankriders also ?
-
me! ;D
-
The only issue I have with such a camo...is that it resembles german ones...sand/brown/green...no doubt a number a tankers found out the wrong way. Also, I've never seen camo like that on a T34/85 just IS2/ISU and some T34/76s

I'd rather say it would be "Smite down fascist scum!"
And I think that Tank Riders T-34 may not have camo, but should be distinctively diffrent from regular ones.
-
Is it possible to implement multiple random tank skins like the ones by Slayerknecht? that would be so damn cool ;D
-
I think the sound of camo on tanks would be nice, although its a minor topic in the game
-
Since I know nothing about skins and designing videogames, is it possible to add things onto german tanks such as pine boughs or brush on certain maps depending on the foliage of the map? I think the Shermans have sandbags on them, do any other tanks have anything on them?
Ooohh, what about zimmerit?
