I speak of the fact that I'm finding it almost impossible, even on easy setting, to defeat the Soviets as PE. German units are expensive, and yet get mowed down by the unending spam of Soviet infantry. To give you an idea, I played on Rostov with 3 Hard Wehrmacht and myself as PE vs 4 easy Soviets. The Soviets won. Is the game designed to reflect that the Soviets won the war on the eastern front? I'm constantly starved for fuel and have no answer to having all my carefully built up assault grenadiers get mowed down in seconds by overpowered features like 128390582590218509 NKVD conscripts backed up with command squads and those ridiculous firebases that make it near impossible to cap since the AI (and any reasonable player) just leapfrogs with them so you can't cap any neighboring territory. I understand the soviets used lots of infantry and artillery in real life, and did in fact win, but this is ridiculous. I'm here to play a game in which the two sides are at least remotely equal, not recreate the destruction of army group center.

have a look at our replay section. This are not remotely as bad as you think.
PE 4 man squads are your best friend. So are scout cars in early game who tear up soviet infantry....in fact there are loads of things you can do to even up the odds.

my 4 man squads are easily overwhelmed by the soviet zerg. I just dont have the resources to crank them out faster than the soviets can overrun the map and starve me of fuel and manpower. I tried armored cars and watched them die in a matter of seconds because the AI made one AT infantry squad. Honestly I thought this mod would be really cool, and I appreciate the obviously immense amount of work that went into it, but fighting for a couple of hours to a slow defeat against an enemy thats supposed to be on easy setting because even Jagdpanthers melt in the face of their zerg isn't any fun at all. Great concept, though.

MP44 blob supported by Marders allways works for me.
Just dont send 1 Marder vs 1 T-34 becouse AI can circlestrafe.
If you run a 4 man MP44 squad into 3 NKVD squads youre PGs will die.
If you run a Commando squad (with smoke) into 3 grenadier squads Commandos will die.

Wait wait... have you update the mod to 1.11??? The first release was obviously unbalance, but recent patch tend to equilibrate forces. I find that soviet are pretty well balance (except for some things, but nothing is perfect in the world!), much more than the british faction anyway.

Actually I have to agree, though not just against coms. Poor PE are so UP right now that they will certainly lose to an even skilled Soviet player. They get steamrolled by Support barracks or Tank depot just as fast as each other. This is not the Soviet Union's fault though as the problem lies in the PE faction design.

I seriously hope that the devs consider doing some balance work for the PE side. Not much, just enough to tie this mod together all the more seamlessly. ;)

I thought I read somewhere they were working with the GR experts and the Reborn clan to balance the original factions. As far as I know they are making AT grenades home like stickies which, by itself, is a huge improvement. Not to mention other things they might be changing.

PE are better with scortched, to avoid cap with a one or two hurt sov

It may have been that interview with the scottish dev. Dragon maybe? I don't really remember but I also heard they're making roos cost 40 fuel. Good stuff.

Well someone had to. You can't just release the patch and go, "Oh, btw we decided to change our stance on modifying the existing factions and we balanced them finally after years of Relic incompetence. We used the GR experts too which can give you some peace of mind that the job was well done. We might also get a bit of an influx of GR players since their idols played a part in the creation of our mod now. We didn't tell you until now because we didn't really think it was a biggie."
In my opinion this is a huge step for the mod which should serve to get the competitive crowd interested again.

We're...simply fixing the issues/bugs as were requested by the experts that relic is in contact with in GR.
Simply put...we took their list and did all they asked...so there is should be no more complaints about not listening to the community experts'.
Of course its a positive step, for even if someone doesn't like the soviets, they can still play the other factions who will be much better balanced and increase our player base ;D

:o!!! I dare to say a big step forwards... Now EF besides giving us two new factions to use, also features "experts balance" which is the thoughts of the "GR Experts" applied to balance better than ever and fix those pesky bugs whom existed since time immemorial!!!
It's an exciting time 8)!!!!!

Last night I played EF with my friend,He played with Panzer Elite and I with Soviets. We met on the opened ground,I had 4 squads of engineer and he just 1 of his Panzer Grenadiers,and he blasted my engineer in a matter of seconds?! I know they a re Soviets and they are purly trained,but WTF!? I defeated him any way with T-34,but,please,balance infantry a little bit more...

Ingenery will nearly always lose to almost any unit if without upgrades. If you are going to use them as a combat unit, they've got to be in heavy cover and have support to even get a few kills off.

4 Ingenery squads will beat PGs most of the time. BL.

+1. Ingenery are weak alone but in numbers are DECENT. Something like 2 or 3 MP40 Volks would mow them down easy though.
