Pak40, definitely.
41-45 able to defeat the frontal armour of 90% of its opponents at normal to long combat ranges. Small enough to deploy/redeploy and conceal without too much trouble. Simple enough to manufacture and maintain.  Often misreported as an 88 by troops that came under fire in Normandy as it went straight through the shermans just like the 88s in the desert

+1

88mm is started as Anti-aircraft gun and only later was employed as anti-tank.
Also British 17 pounder was a good AT.

I have to go with the British 6-Pounder, Could Penitrate ALL Italian tanks and Most German tanks, Panzer1-PanzerIV, in Africa, was a feared weapon.

Did not take long to perforate the armor of our tanks; it were the worst of the WW2. :(
I save only the 75-18 and 105-25 Bassotto (Dachsl).
With the other tanks (L6/40, M13-40, FIAT Armoured Cars 41),  you could pierce with the tip of a pen. ;D

Pak43 88mm. The best use of it was shown in King Tigers, Jagdpanthers, Elefants and Nashorns.

I'm assuming we're talking about Towed AT guns....And its about overall usefulness/performance not just penetration/damage. Towed Pak43 was a big fail and 17prd was too big/heavy as towed ATG....which is why you neber saw the Panther gun made into an ATG

ZiS-3.
It shown its worth at Kursk, Germans useg it on Marders, more than 14000 SU-76 were build. But all 75 and 3inch AT guns were great at that time.

I choose the 88. It was very long ranged, had a nice rate of fire, killer anti-tank, but not so good on mobility. Can also be changed to fight aircraft. It was used in many famous battles, D-Day, Market Garden, basically all of them.

They also were so good they went on Germany's heavy tanks, and I know you people like tigers ;).

So that's my choice. Range is very very important factor for a at gun. If you see the enemy first, its a good chance your win.

The flak 36 88mm cannon isn't the gun mounted on tanks. It is a different design and they just shoot the same size projectile.

No, it wasn't. It was still 88mm but not a flak cannon. Just like the 75mms on the Panzer 4 and Panther are different.

Why Flak88 is on list?
Actually, AT capability is optional opportunity, defying by weak armour piarsing state army models.
And for not profecional lines of sights, technical data must be wroted.
My opinion.

The flak was a wonderful AT weapon! It could also be a AA gun or Arty. It was made to shoot airplanes high in the air, how can it have bad Pen??

A plane's armor is weaker than a tank one. But certainly Seeme is correct.

Yea the Amour is weaker, but at such speed the shell is fired at makes it strong.

You need to fire the shell +5km upwards to reach a plane, while you shooot at tanks 2km away max.

Yeah, but besides the speed also the gravity force takes it's toll.

Ununderstand ... as usual. OK

Well, my hobby is tactics, strategy ... & geopolitics some a little.
Without a geographic, well known technics & weapons data ...
It's easy to understand.
