Hey Eastern Front Community!,

the patch 1.2 changed the whole feeling & balance of our Eastern Front Mod, we´re happy to see that most of you like that patch. 

The time to “fix” those maps is on! Let´s fix the bugs, get a nice balance and feeling on them. For that job we need your help!
You got any suggestion? Post it!
What we want from you:
- Helpful Suggestions
- Clear Suggestions (May with some attachment’s like screenshots or some drawing’s?)

Our aspiration should to get the style of the original Company of Heroes Maps, how it could look like? We already did that step with Kharkov and Moscow! Thanks for any help in this area!

We had a map competition on GR.org, many awesome maps were made, but they were never added to the map poll.
Do you think it would be possible to add some of these maps to EF and the winners to the automatc poll?

Thanks for that tip! May I´m going to contact some of the mappers (1v1, 2v2 some look real insane!). May with they will be brought in Eastern Front in the next patch.

If is possible, can you enlarge the Start position on Leningrad?
It's impossible for the player on left build up all the buildings, especially with German faction.

It would be great if every person could use russian tank wrecks on his map. Shermans etc. costs a lot of atmosphere. ;)

Hey Moonwalker and beagletank,

Leningrad did got small bases? Hm ok going to take a look at, it also needs a some Fixes, I do not really like the map how it is right now.

Uhm, yeah that would be awesome, but our modeler didn´t got such much time to get some Map Object done. But I´ll to contact them and ask them if they could get some Wrecks working.

I contacted a couple of them during that competition(like Seb) with regards to adding their maps to our mod, however people declined on the bases that they're expecting Relic to incorporate them into the main game.
Some of those maps are were also part of other mods I believe like EiR/OMG.

Maybe the long wait has changed their mind..... ::)

Why would people not want to have the map they have spend so many hours on into all the mods? but only the main game?

If it was added to the main game it would come into EF as well anyway.

That is just stupid...

Stalingrad map.

I was playing as the Soviets in a comp stomp.
I captured a building next to the German deployment, in fact right in front of it in the South.

As i captured it it messed with the retreat options. all units when retreated ran toward this building.
which is weird, also if i kept a unit inside the building i was given options to build either...a command squad, US engineers or a pink picture...

yah bug. in fact it hasn't changed since last time i saw this, except it now ruins retreat options.

I hope my suggestions aren't a pain to implement  :P

-I always wondered if it was possible to add new re-skinned garrisonable buildings, they would give a better feel than the old Normandy ones. It's not a big deal but Cafe Normandin's in the heart of the Soviet Union look out of place lol

-Maps with details that "tell a story", like the Tiger wreck next to a few destroyed T-34's in Zhytomyr.

-The Berlin map is great, but it would be awesome if there was a separate Reichstag map, where close-quarters infantry fight can take place (like the Cathedral in Caen but bigger)

-Lots, and lots of details! For instance, if it's a bombed city more furniture on the streets, makeshift barricades, houses on fire, a few dead soldiers around...

that's all I guess, I can't think of any balance suggestions ATM

Please don't forget to put in directx 10 features for those of us that use it. It makes the maps quite a bit prettier.

On most of 1vs1 maps there are too low munitions points. Prague should be an example.

If you use VP on Orel, the Allies get 3 on there side, and 2 on the Germen side. Or if you swap postions, German 3, allies 2.

But anyway it makes the allies much more inclined to win, and my suggestion is that you place 1 of the VPs on the middle island. Makeing it have a fair chance of both fractions getting it.

Hey Mystic, schau einfach mal auf Jüterborg ins Wasser. Mann sieht da überall die gleiche verrissen Spiegelung eines Stromastes. sieht komisch aus, wirste sofort sehen.

The offical language at this board is english, apple.
When u want to tell Mystic something in german use the

Hm, may post just a Screenshot would be much more easier, but maybe i will find that building without a screenshot but with a big bunch of luck!  :P

I believe various objects only appear in the game world with directx 10 enabled. Stuff like pebbles everywhere and whatnot. It makes it look nicer. I'm not sure if these have to be added in by the mapper or if they are automatic with regular object placement.

You mean the pebbles on the ground?
The engine automically does adds them on the ground.

Or did you got Problems with some maps which does not show this pubbles?

Maybe its only me but im unhappy with the Stalingrad Map how it is at the mom. I would like more Houses, Ruins etc. instead of those industry buildngs and halls. Also it would be nice if the Rus. HQ would be at the border of the Wolga, with trenches surrounding it (remains of the tough defend of the docks). What really irritated me were the sand colored ground textures in the bases an some other places, they just dont fit, i would expect muddy ground with craters and remains like building rubble, furniture etc. I would have loved to see something like in the Film Stalingrad or Enemy at the Gates.

Well all my ideas would maybe need a complete new map, which maybe isnt what you planed.

Wll i somehow planed to try myself, in the mom i have plenty of time and im willing to learn about that editor ... so  lets see :D. But i think i will fail totally at the beginning.

ah it seems i get a logfile for failed screenshots for Eastern front. and a number of other files for some strange reason. i'll see if i can upload the photos from mobile pics.

Well in the map Halbe, there is a big cliff where I could put Flak 88's on but they couldn't target tanks IN RANGE. So I had to use  the "attack ground" button.

I also recommend xfire, it helps you take screenies without going through your folders and such, its fast and fun and free.

tbh most of the maps need an overhaul for the MG nests at the base.
even some of the maps that aren't customised (like gilroys harbour) have MG nest fail.

[EF] Kursk 2v2 has some quite messy building space. would be cool if you could rework the start/building area. Theres some random "world" assigned mines in the map i dont know if its intended as decoration, but imo it looks abit lame.

EDIT:

I noticed that whenever playing this map my ketten gets stuck when commanded to capture points useing the route at the picture below.

Its not like it gets trapped but it just stops moveing when its in the area on the picture, i need to manually nurse it threw the passage to make it pass.
