Title: Generally slower?
Post by: Axiswulf on September 16, 2010, 10:51:21 AM
Hey, I just started playing EF and I've noticed that it's, on the whole, generally slower on my machine than regular COH.  I'm running a vista on a core2 quad at 2.4, 4 gig ram, nVidia GTX260.  With this system I can max out all the settings on COH at 1680x1050 and have perfect framerates unless i start tilting the map down so it has to draw the whole thing at once.  EF is a lot slower though, i have to bring settings to half or i start to approach slideshow framerates when the action heats up on screen.  Just wondering if anyone has noticed the same trend or if it's just me.  Sorry if this had been brought up before, like I said, I'm new here.

You shouldn't be having a problem with either CoH or EF with that system. Try updating drivers maybe? Also, maybe the nvidia control center is forcing AA or other settings on, which could slow it down. Try making sure it's application controlled.

Thanks for the advice, I think my tweaking around in the nVidia control panel finally did the trick; framerates are smooth all around now.  Although she still crashes when the soviets have more than one slot going, whether it's more than one AI or me(soviet) + a soviet AI.  Ah well, probably not much I can do about that.  :P

Hey, to start, I would like to say that the developers did a really formidable work. Then, I am French and English speech for me it is not easy. I' have a problem in EF, when I play, I have decelerations which appear. They last 30 seconds approximately then disappear and reappear 5 minutes later. How I can make to don't have that ? I thank you =)

I'm testing a program, Mz Game Accelerator (http://www.mztweak.com/mzgameaccelerator.html), that does what the names calls, I use it to play Crisis and works fine, perhaps you can try it to see if can improve the performance of EF.

i can recommend a program called "game booster" it will turn off stuff and switch your PC into gamining mode with 1 click.

Good and easy program that gives you more FPS ingame to deal with.
