One last Q , where does it save it to when I Print screen ?
I cant find where 0.O
Title: Re: Post a pic of YOUR Desktop!
Post by: Blackbishop on September 26, 2010, 04:20:53 AM
It's saved in a section of the ram on your machine. Until you open paint and paste it :). So if you press prnt scr and after that you "copy" something (crtl+c/right click copy) you will lose that information.

Whenever you take a screenshot try to save it on paint or whatever similar program you have as fast as possible to avoid mistakenly overwrite it in memory :).

I meant folder , as in after I press it where I find it ;)

I'm not joking :-\. Unless you had some special program that catches that event(when you click prnt scr button) it's not going anywhere but clipboard memory section.

If you ask for the default folder when you save a picture with paint or another similar software, is "User\Pictures" or "Start Menu->Pictures"

I didnt think you were joking... I just misunderstood :(
The reason im so interested in this is that now I can post screenies of my Tank for the Army man mod , but since I cant get it to work Ill have to find another way.

Well unless someone says otherwise, I think the process for this is:

a) Press Prnt Scr.
B) Open Paint.
c) Press Ctrl+v
d) Save it.

I used Kubuntu(linux distro) some time ago, and you could save screenshots by pressing Prnt Scr, without doing all these steps.

While less icons do you have in the desktop could mean that your pc will start seconds faster.

You got a point. You got a cookie ;).

My destop start up is 20 seconds.
Open Game like EF it takes 20 seconds to reach main menu.
Play RUSE it would take 10 seconds to reach main menu.
ARMAII takes at least 30 + . ( I dunno why took that long )
Stronghold Crusader took 2 Seconds
Battlefield Veitname took 5 seconds to jump to game.
ARMY MEN RTS less than 1 seconds to play.

Software Open Gmax took 10 Seconds
Open Pro Poser took 15 seconds
Open 3Dmax took 45 seconds.

Well got a lot more i recorded.  My destop only have recyle bin, My COMPUTER, My network, Solfware Folder, Internet Folder, Others ( Such like mods and documents and Game Folder .

Last I checked my Computer took around 4-6 minutes to start up and about 30 seconds to start EF/BK ( sometime s I have to log out and log back in to launch some programs.) , was like this since my stupid cousin went on Myspace for a week straight, and my computer is less than a year old with a ton of memory free.

Screen capture taken a few minutes ago. Main problem? My desktop image is changed regularly.

Yes it's a clickable thumbnail for fullsize, don't even ask if the model is Eastern Front related. Even if it is I wouldn't tell you, no teasers yet kids.

It's too high poly to be a teaser, but i'm sure Hawk would have no problems making a good looking low poly version with epic Normal maps.

Ok, ok so it is a 'teaser'... but a teaser of something you've already seen, remember the 1.20 release? Well it's the MG 34 from the roof of the Elephant. Only I've finaly gotten round to UV mapping and texturing it properly.

Yep it stands at 64,032 polygons, so I could kill the mod if you like  ;D
As the Max file itself suggets though that was just a Direct X shader test, realtime shader to be exact so 'what you see is what you get' no traditional rendering required. I'll be honest however, it's not perfect yet it still does a beautiful job. Could probably be of good use to the model/texture artists on the team.

Was the last part a hint by the way?
