Hello dear EF team, this question goes straight to the Modders.
I am currently working on my own maps (inspired by Forgotten Hope & Red Orchestra) and I wanted to change some gameplay values to make it a LITTLE bit more realistic. SO I wanted to ask if you can tell me where can I find the list with all the vehicle's armor & gun damage values?
I would like to change some of the values but only for single player purpose of course! And no worries, I will NOT release it somewhere on the internet to claim it's my own Mod lol.
Some things I would like to fix:
-All anti tank guns and tank guns shall have realistic penetration and damage power and can one-shot kill most tanks when they penetrate the armor. When they do not penetrate the armor, they will also do no damage (just like in real). Only a few guns with very large caliber like 122mm & 155mm will make damage, even when they don't penetrate armor.
-Projectile behavior shall be more realistic, so that the shells travel faster with more speed.
-Gun range shall be increased to be more realistic, so that a Tiger II has about ~8-10 times MORE gun range than a Sherman or T34.
-Sightening range of all tanks shall be increased as well, so that a tank with good sights and optics has larger sight radius than a tank with bad sights/optics.
-Armor protection shall be realistic too, according to its historical counterpart (for example, most tank guns can not penetrate the front armor of Tiger II and can also do no damage from the front).
I would also like to make reloading time more realistic if it's possible.
Can I do this? Would be nice to hear from you guise back ciau.
EDIT: I think I have found the correct direction it's "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\Eastern_Front\DataAttrib\attrib\weapon\allies_soviets\ballistic_weapon\tank_gun"
There are the RGD-files with all the unit data that I need, at least I hope so... brb will test it now :D

I think you need Corsix or something though.
Anyway that sounds cool, I have a suggestion for yea though. If you can one shot Lots of tanks, it would be balanced if you make all tanks a bit in accurate, so it would be harder to kill them.(Like in real life). Also Make Turrets a lot more slower, so T-34s can swarm them.
Anyway Good Luck.

Cool map! 8) Good luck!

The mod team does not support modding their creation, especialy if you try to release it , other than the users I dont think youll get any help.
-
You can't change stats in the worldbuilder. But you can still make funny things with the .scar file like spamming a lot of Volksgrenadiers ;).

No I don't want to release it on the internet and claim it is My own Mod or something like that. I mentioned it in my first post already, it's only for single player purpose. :)
And what do you mean, they wouldn't support 'modding their creation'? just changing some values isn't really 'modding'. lol

Ok I have found the correct directory for armor & gun balance of all vehicles in EF
It is C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\Eastern_Front\DataAttrib\attrib\weapon\allies_soviets\ballistic_weapon\tank_gun
There I can change the penetrating power, damage power, gun range, sight of tanks, projectile behavior, detonation radius, accuracy, aarmor protection, Health Point (HP) of all vehicles etc etc EVERYTHING I wanted!
When I have finished completing some of my maps, maybe I can ask the owners of the EF mod if they allow me to release some of my work on the internet anyway? I think everyone would be happy about it :)
-
Yeah, a good map is always welcome.
-
Thats not what hes saying !@#$

Seeme, he asked about where he could change some values, but minutes later posted that he found the place.
Then he said:

Did I misread something :-X? What is he trying to say :-\?

LoL, no it's all right. You got the point correct because that is what I have been asking for in the first place, I just mentioned additionally that I am also making my own maps for some variety because the old standard maps are getting boring to me.
But now I discovered another problem, I know only the directory for the Eastern Front Mod. But I can't find the RGD files of the regular Company of heroes vehicles.
Right now I can only change the values of vehicles from the EF Mod but not from the original COH.
Help pls?
-
Do you use corxis modstudio?
Using it you can modify either EF unit values and CoH ones.

At first I just used the simple RGDEditor to open and edit the RGD files, worked fine to me. But thanks for the link which you have showed me, right now I'm rather working with the Corsix's Mod, much less complicated :D And yea, there are all of the COH vehicles available, great. But still, I can not find the ARMOR values of the tanks! I can only change tank_gun and Hit_Points (HP) values, but not the armor protection :(
meh, nvm.

Wait, isn't the Corsix's Mod actually supposed to create your own Mod? But that's not what I want. I Don't wanna create my own Mod that's wrong, I still want to use the Eastern Front mod, just with some files being changed :S
All the work in this studio programme for nothing, I can not use the files for the EF Mod, instead I can only use them for my NEW Mod God damnit >:(

Modifications to factions can be done on map basis?
When the hell did this happen? If it's possible then I guess it's a 50/50
If you have to modify the faction as a whole then I'm pretty sure that if you ask to release on the internet you'll get a flat NO because you'd be breaking the terms and conditions.

I would like to know if that's possible though.

Indeed.

Corxis Mod Studio edits the files of the mod you choose, that's why you "open a mod", if you want to create a new mod you choose "Create new Mod". I think you're confused about this subject:

Of course if you modify some values and save the file, you are doing the same that used to before "meeting" Corxis.
That's why everyone said that distributing your "moded EF" is against the rules.

It was already stated in my pervious posts and I will say it again if nobody has the insight to understand my words, I am NOT going to release or publish any of my work on the internet yet. I only wanted to do this for the single player purpose. So No, I'm not breaking any freaking rules! Nevertheless, I am still permitted to publish my own created maps that i am working on with the world builder, because these have nothing to do with the EF mod anyway and so they don't belong to the EF rules. ;) If anyone is interested I make very realistic large sized battlefield maps for long range tank battles and urban maps for very narrow street fighting but with realistic guns and weapons (yes, infantry is now very vulnerable and can die after hit by 1 bullet, cool eh?).

Alright, I was a little confused with this because I'm new to the Editor Mod. Thanks for clreaing it up. Axis & Western Allies can now be edited too in the EF Mod sweet :D Thanks again for the support
