In Eastern Front mod Soviet assault Ingineers can build artillery position, but cannon in this position a very strange, and don't similar with any Soviet cannon. Standard Soviet artillery was 122mm M-30 Howitzer.

D-1 Howitzer is Barrel of M-10 Howitzer on Lafette of M-30 Howitzer. M-30 Was more popular, and produced much more number s of M-30 than D-1

I don't personally know why people care. For the purposes of the game it is the Soviet heavy artillery piece, firing 8 shells inaccurately and each one does more damage than a US 105 but not as much as a Hummel. That's all I need to know.

Indeed, this unit is fine, there're units that need to be changed, but I don't think this is on the list... ???

You can only build one arty gun as soviets...

Sure, just make "God of War" actually usable, 'cause right now it's more of a pain in the S.

At the moment the red army uses a reskined british 25pounder gun.
A new model was planed but without enought animators i cant tell u anything about progress or implementation.

damn that's a pity because I really think the ability is cool and all its just that no one can agree on how to balance it.

it causes a lot of havoc, and this is what I like in CoH the most - total destruction of everything.

It causes a lot of distraction to the one who uses it, and it sure isn't supposed to. So, I think, right now it's too expensive while causes more problems, than solves, and I am glad, it's going to be fixed.

We had a great discussion about that ability some time ago. I hope dev picked up at least an idea of this topic, there was a lot of nice interpretation of what should be a true 'god of war' ability.

Well, I don't think Devs will implement something like "double fire wall" (that's when troops move virtually surrounded by supporting artillery fire), just hope it'll stop hitting everything and everyone in a mile-away radius from where it should be. Yeah, I know, it's a game, but soviet artillery can do better than that (it was the best WW2 artillery, after all).
