I think we should have a Star wars thread anyway.
I'll start:
Vader was a Pansy, a true pansy, getting killed by a simple newbie jedi ? Pitiful, Atleast Maul had a nice Run, plus , he took out a Veteran Jedi when he died. Bad move on  sidious's part.

CoH + Star Wars = Imperial Reign (http://www.moddb.com/mods/imperial-reign) :D...

About Vader, he just became weak because was fighting his beloved son and died due to the Emperor's attack not because of Luke's fight.

You can say that Vader took out a "veteran" Sith Master before dieing ;D!!!

I didn't see that Jimbo changed the topic's name lol.
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Akalonor on November 28, 2010, 06:57:36 AM
But Vader did not defeat him in actual combat, only with a backstab to save his son ;)
and Obi-wan realized he had to die inorder for Vader to be defeated.
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: IJoe on November 28, 2010, 07:26:02 AM
Well, in terms of ranks, Vader was only a "junior" sith, which could explain his fairly poor performance against jedy masters.  ;)
As far as I remember, he was able to kill in a fair fight only "junior" siths, while being a padavan, and yunglings and padavans as a "junior" sith. Sounds sucky to me.  ;D

Seemed to me that the Emperor didn't take the rebellion seriously enough, he had a massive army at his disposal, but he never bothered to engage them in full force.

True, but you're talking about a massive galaxy, if they had tried to blanket it with stormtroopers, he would be spread thin. I love the empire, but you'd think thousands of years in the future, there would be someone smart enough to cover up that one hole that can blow up the death star....twice.

the newer ones are fucked up
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Akalonor on December 07, 2010, 03:25:36 PM
Especially the cartoons, those are retarded in many ways. Droids are just tin cans that can't ID a Grenade , and pick it up instead, which is ridiculous. If they're combat droids of course they're going to be able to identify a grenade immediately, and fire on sight.
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Pauly3 on December 07, 2010, 10:03:39 PM
i didnt like the battle droids in the real movies either
the advantages of droids are supposed to be reaction time, lack of mercy or remorse and good aim
those "battle" droids have none except for droidekas which are somewhat slow and make a nice rocket target due to high cost
Title: Re: Star wars thread

What I don't get is those robo things with a shield, how to they die?
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Akalonor on December 08, 2010, 03:41:48 PM
You can kill droidekas with a powerful enough blaster to lower the shield (Utilized by Anakin in the Phantom menace, he uses the N1 starfighters blasters to destroy the Droidekas that are attacking the others.)
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Blackbishop on December 08, 2010, 05:16:26 PM
I didn't know that those robo things had name :-\. Now I know, Droidekas... btw you should play Star Wars: Republic Commando, it's a good game.
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Newbie. on December 08, 2010, 06:31:08 PM
I guess the B1's were designed for one thing: Big Numbers, Low cost, swarm the enemy (Like the Conscripts in EF)
But with the B2 Super Battle droid, we have something closer to the Strelky.
Then, with the B3... We have the Trade Federation Shock Guards ;D
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Akalonor on December 09, 2010, 12:43:29 AM
The B3 is like an JS-7 :D

Unless you mean C-B3 which are like shock guards (I had to look this one up on wookieepedia, never heard of it before)

Those Super Battle Droids are thugh, i can't imagine fighting an Ultra Battle Droid.
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Newbie. on December 09, 2010, 05:07:07 PM
Argh i see, tbh, the CB-3 Fits a Shock Guard role...

The B3 fits the Maus role.
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Max 'DonXavi' von B. on December 09, 2010, 07:10:38 PM
Nah.. I think B3 is kinda Knightscrossholder while B1 is just a conscript..
ATAT would be Maus - slow, easy to outmaneuver, anyway a big heap of steel with almost no short range skills. Would fit into Nazi technology.. bigger, heavier, worse.
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Akalonor on December 10, 2010, 12:43:04 AM
Say that to the Hoth Veterans :D
"Bigger ,heavier, worse"
But it does have high armour and big cannons.

Yesterday I watched Star Wars II with my sister (yes, lol) and we came to the point, that those movies have a unknown humorous potential.
I'm still waiting for someone entering the forums and moaring for seismic bombs for the Ostheer or something in that category.
Lord Hitler and Darth Göbbels are coming..

THis topic probably died a LOOONNNGG time ago :( but Im just curious. Does anyone here watch the SW animated series on CN? I happen to like it although I can see why some "classic SW" fans may not :-\. I am particuraly upset by all of my favorite clone troopers dying. Poor Echo and Denal :(

Figured I shouldn't start a new thread. Unless you guys want me 2 ???
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: DrRockzo1986 on September 04, 2011, 07:56:19 AM
I do sometimes, But for the most part i think the animated stuff is really lame. I only watch it when they have old school charaters on it like Bossk, Tarkin, and it was interesting when they had the young Fett on there.

BTW my fav character from SW has to be Maximilian Veers 8)
in all the original movies he was the only one to successfully defeat the rebel alliance (on Hoth)
Title: Re: Star wars thread
Post by: Pac-Fish on September 04, 2011, 08:44:54 AM
Well the movies were for the most part on the rebels side :P, portraying the Rebels as heroes almost. So its not surprising that they gave them so many easy wins(Endor + Yavin 4) and made the Empire look like a bunch of jokers :(.

Who gets defeated by teddy bears with sticks+rocks :P How hard could they possibly throw a rock or spear that it penetrates your armor :-\

Here my treasssssure  ;D

Here you can see models of Tie Interceptor, Tie Bomber, Darth Vader's Tie Advance (with damaged wing), X-Wing and Snowspeeder.

This is a big size reproduction of the legendary Millenium Falcon

These are big models (in the same scale og the Falcon) of Tie Fighter, Naboo Fighter and Tatooine Desert Ship.

These are movie characters, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Imperial Pilot and Tatooine Marauder.
On the back there is a Forest Speeder of the Imperial Scouts.
This characters can be used inside the previous big battleship.

Again movie characters, Luke Skywalker (Pilot and Tatooine versions) and Han Solo (Hoth Base version).

These are the places where I fought epic battles with my armies against my cousin and his armies :) .
The Death Star and the big Hoth Base are from the Action Fleet Collection (if you open the Death Star there's a reproduction of it, with hangar, Emperor's Room etc..).
The small Hoth Base and the 2 heads (if open you can see Death Star in the Trooper head and the Commercial federation Ship in the Droid one) are from Micr Machines Collection.

These are some models from Micro Machine Collection (except the two Speedere that are from Action Fleet).

These are movie characters with Speaking Chip; putting the toy on the Chip you can hear some phrases. Here the Quenn Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Battle Droid.
Also Luke Skywaker in Endor version.
In front of them, some models from Micro machine Collection.

And these are my PC Videogames (but I'm sure to have some more hides in my room).
Unfortunately they can't be used on my PC (except SW Battlefront) because they're incompatible with 64 bit.

I finally got my (long overdue) SW pics up. :) Any questions just ask. I have alot of recent SW toys so if you want any more pics feel free to inquire :D I also have alot of clones cause they appeal to me ;D. I also have an AT-TE and SW lego if you wanna see that :P. I had battle droids but didn't take pics :P

Like Desert_Fox I didn't take pictures of all my SW stuff, just some cause if I did, I'd have them after Halloween :-X

Lets try this again. Hopefully I wont destroy anything this time :P

Hooray it worked ;D. Dont mind the turkey in the corner :P. I didn't want to put it on the floor. The images you see are an AT-ST and Star destroyer in lego. And some mini bust I got at toys'r'us

These are my imperial soldiers. The one in the middle had a....growth spurt :P I gave him a G-36

These are a bunch of random Clone Troopers. Colorful ;D

An AT-AT walker I got on sale at toys'r'us. There are stormtroopers in the stomach, head, and butt of this thing :P

Some boobleheads and mighty muggs. They're like statues but they move, look pudgy, and they're funner ;D ;D

Some red clones. I like the color red :P

These are a mix of rebels and misc.  :P Cause the imperials need something to shoot ;D

Some blue clones. Part of the 501st :)

Finally some clones from 38th armor batalion. Think of them as Tank riders ;D

Hooray for TinyPic.com And ty RIzz and blackbishop for deleting my earlier, messed up post ;D

LOL. How about a LEGO Tank ;D?

The gray one is a T-34, the green one is a Sherman IV, and the tan one is suppose to be a Tiger but it looks like a Panzer IV :P.

Only the Panzer IV has its treads intact b/c "Only the best in german engineering!"

BTW who speaks russian? I wanna know what that says on the tank

Yes and no :P. Its targeted audience is children and teenagers. But it also allows people to continue watching SW and not have to wait for books or simply re watch old movies.

It also depends on what show you watch. For a while season 3 sucked really bad. Then it got SLIGHTY better. The start of Season 4 wasn't too great IMO. Season 1 was the best IMO :P

CW allows us to expand our understanding and imagination of the SW realm while giving us fun animations to watch.

Oh come on guys. The animated series is meant for children :P I think most adults expectations are too high. Especially with recent developments in technology. It makes CW series seem less impressive :(

No but I have SW: Battlefront 1 (im trying 2 get #2) and Republic Commando :D. But both games are fun inbalanced and quite frankly retarted at times IMHO. It doesn't help the devs at SW are to busy making new games rather than fixing old ones and expanding on it ::)

And I know you specific guys dont like SW the CW but for everyone else: New episode today :P. Apparently about slaves ???

To be honest I watched all of the Star Wars series and was more fascinated at the technology of warfare rather than the "Jedi" and "Lightsaber Wielding LOL-OP" Guys. Yes I enjoyed the movies but in-depth I was more into the whole space warfare and the rifles. It inspired me to become more involved in technology-based RPGS and Clans a couple of years back, infact I "Designed" a few star cruisers loosely based upon some Imperial and Republican designs I found somewhere on star wars wiki or something...

I feel the same way :D. I like the idea of capital ships and laser rifles  or hover craft as well :P. The vehicles they use like walkers also seems interesting(although not too realistic :P) The suit of armor the troopers use also seem cool but in the movies it sucks XD

Lightsabers are cool but probably less fessable than the other ideas IMO. And the force is just out of the question ::). Unless u try hard enough ^^

I know, reviving an old thread is not looked upon :P. But I just wanted to share with you guys a star wars Lego product I had bought at the beginning of the Month: The Star Wars Advent Calendar! :D

Now this product was suppose to be bought in November and used throughout December. But for all those who didn't buy it (or waited) here's your chance! Many stores (like Target) are clearancing these calendars for $20. Now these calendars used to be $40 but since Christmas is over, time to clear out the inventory! :D. Now considering how EVERYTHING Lego these days is overpriced (it used to be 100 pieces for $10, now its like 100 pieces for $20), this is a pretty good deal (they give you 266 pieces)

Now you may wonder, "WTH is a Lego Advent Calendar?" Well its literally a calendar and every day you open a peep hole and construct a new lego model. They are really fun to make and play with (since they're so small ^^). Its like origami calendars where you make a new origami animal every day for a year :P. There are 24 days in total (b/c originally you were suppose to start this calendar in the first day of December all the way to the 24th) so don't get confused if you buy it (I honestly did XD) Hurry, before they run out!

And no, Im not a spam bot ^^. Just a spam fish ;D

Here is a pic of some stuff inside:

What you see is a Santa Yoda, a LAAT/i Gunship, and the Millenium Falcon, all bite sized ^^. And yes, that is a Crab Mouse Pad XD

If you want any more pics let me know :P. There are 24 models in all

Btw. How come in the clone wars, before Darth Vader and all that, they got better tech than in the future? XD I know the movies were made after but come on! XD

.. White Darth Vader rocks! <3

When you say the miniatures board game, doyou mean the one where you buy the little minatures and each have their own card  ???

And I know,  the Clone wars kinda makes no sense if you think about it :P. Thats what happens when authors go back in time and contiune a story :P. Like Halo reach and Halo 3. Apprently as time evolved, the spartans got less sophisticated XD. Maybe they went mediveal :P

Yeah thats the one! Every character have a card with stats like HP and attack and abiletys and such! :D

Hmm. Thats weird. Sadly it happens many series that they decide to make sequels taking place before the first movie and the story and all gets all kind of weird XD

YEah I have the miniatures you're taking about  ;). Sadly I don't know how to play XD. I just like collecting them. Plus, since the company Wizards went out of buisness, they no longer have the rules online, nor do they sell it in stores. I just buy clearanced miniatures booster packs :3

I wouldn't mind seeing if the 3D is actually any good. I doubt it though. Any film not originally filmed in 3D looks retarded. I would definitely go see the movies in cinemas if it was good 3D and didn't give me a headache (mostly just to see the original trilogy in cinemas).

I just saw the movie in 3D and I must say, its pretty fun :D. The point is really to see it in stunning 3D and it delivers on that :). And they let you keep some knifty Star Wars 3D glasses ;D. I've always wanted 3D glasses :P. Just see it for a low price. I sorta spent a lot to see it :(. But I needed to get out today :P
