Yep, relic has notgiven up on the game, so the question is, will EF impliment the balance changes.
The changes were made by the top experts of CoH as well

If this happens it might just get interesting, a New year revelation by Relic perhaps.
-
Yeah, it always was stated that we'll respect Relic work and if they will patch, EF balance changes towards CoH should be rolled back... unless Relic fail, of course (it's too soon to talk about it, but I hope that doesn't happen).
-
I hope Relic don't fail... the better the patch, the more people play CoH... another crap patch could kill the game.
-
We always said EF will be compatible with the latest patch and so it will be.
Now, as far as the Relic patch is concerned it will no doubt go the same way as the previous ones.
Aka. they will implement the experts log like we have, fix the burst bug for the Ostwind, fix the 5% bug and then implement a couple of controversial 'relic style changes' for which people will complain to no end.
It won't really cause any balance issues for us.
All in all, good news but hardly much of an improvement for us(cause we've already made all the good changes to vanila game)....maybe I'm being pedantic, but that's the way I see it.

First of all the is awesome news.
I know it will probably not happen, but I am going to ask you anyway.
Can you offer Relic to put USSR in the real game? And if yes do you think their is even a small chance that they would accept the offer.
From Relics perspective, it might get more people to buy the game.
And your goal has (as far as I know)has always been to have many people play with the Russians and have fun with your work. You have fixed the re-crew bug, so their is no big diffrent between the old factions and this one. The balance is pretty good to. and will hopefully be better with 1.3.
Even if they for some reason says no, ask them if they want some of the better maps like Berlin. And have EF written next to the map. If people like the map they might come and visit this website.

Not going to happen. They'd need to put the USSR in an expansion, which they will never do Too busy with COHO.
-
Anything from Eastern Front becoming 'official' is out of the question. It just simply will not happen.
-
I thought so. Just out of curiosity. Is it because you wounldn't give up the rights to the game or because relic wouldn't take the time to put it into the game?
A long and thorough answers will be appreciated.

I have a feeling that if they were to make a Soviet faction, they would rather make it themselves... Relic have the power to work without the limits we have been working with... personally I would rather play a product they built from scratch that a shiny port of this mod.
Relic are professionals, most Soviet models we have are only half made. They would need to make the Soviet models on par with the rest of the vCoH which is already about 60-70% of the mods workload... already they'd be better off making their own game from scratch which would defeat the point of getting all the stuff from us in the first place.

It cost a lot of money to make a new game and I don't think they are willing to invest these money into it. (ToV and CoHO proves that.) But if they could get a faction from you, they would save a lot of money and the investment might be worth it.
If the two options are not to have a Russian faction and have one where you have made part of it, I think that most people would pick the last one.
Also you might not think of this, but it sounds a lot better on the CV if you can say that your mod made it into the game. That should not be the only reason to send it to them, but I think that you guys deserve it and that this argument should be consider on an equal footing with others.
I do see your point when you say that the mod need some work before it can make it into the game, but I fear that this will be the last time relic will look at vCoH.
Finally I don't quite get why you say that the mod never will be officiale. If USSR, at some point in the future, becomes as good as the old one, than why not implement them in the game?

I just hope Relic doesn't release like four patches each week like last time.
-
I like all the changes in Relic's log, but it is still missing the BiB fix the EF team implemented. Also not so sure about the Engi buff, but time will tell.
-
the current beta changes are the same we have implemented with 1-2 minor exceptions. EF will be compatible with the retail patch that will come out of the beta so you need not worry
-
Is it unreasonable to guess that Relic finally decided to implement this patch because it got so many ideas from this mod's own balance fixes? Also, that they decided that they were good ideas and wouldn't have to do much work in coming up with the ideas themselves? Some of the numbers are spot on....

Both EF and Relic received a list of changes from the experts from GameReplays.org. EF hasn't altered vCoH balance much, if at all, apart from the changes recommended by them. Relic is doing the same.
