Just a quick question.
With the whole Enemy at the gates thing going with the conscripts only having 1 rifle per 2 men, do the weaponless conscripts actually pick up the rifles of the ones who get killed?
-
Nope. :(
-
Dang, it would have been awesome if they did.
Thanks.
-
They say the ones without rifles are programed to due furst, but I don't really see that.
-
I just assumed that it would be like the light weapons which squads can upgrade, pick up and drop - Like if a soldier with a Panzerschreck gets killed, another squad member will take it, if it doesn't drop on the ground. Since i haven't been able to play as the Soviets yet either, i really don't know.
-
They used to die first, I'm not sure when that changed.

That might work.
OT... JOZXYQK is a cat word :P

I'm glad you like it, but i thought of a more suitable analogy - Think of it more like the Flamethrower upgrade - It never gets dropped - It just passes on to another squad member. Incorporate that into the Conscripts and their rifles, and we're set!

This is one of the oldest and best suggestions that have yet to be added

Indeed it is.
-
Lets hope the devs think of it before the next patch. :)

What do you mean "oldest"? Was January 8 really that long ago?
Also, i think the developers are frequently checking the forums, so they should notice it. After all, the Ace-hole is here!

Yeah, you could say so ;).

I've passed the idea on for making Conscripts pass weapons on when they die like shreckers or flamers. I probably didn't need to since, yeah, we do read these forums, but just to voice my opinion that it's a good idea and should be implemented
-
Awesomeness! It's so great that i get to help you guys out in more ways than money! You know, i'd really like to help you make this expansion, but since i don't know the first thing about coding, no can do.
-
Yeah it's a pretty good but old idea. It's been floating around for ages but if you though of it independently then that's good thinking. There are many types of heavy weapon in the game. There are the heavy weapons platforms like tripod MG42s, lighter weapons like panzershreks and 1 of the BARs in a rifle squad which drop on the ground but also swap between members until there are none left, and weapons that are passed between squad members but cannot be dropped, like the other BAR in a rifle squad and MP44s. Making it like an MP44 or a DP-28 should work. I don't really know why it has never been adapted. Perhaps because reinforced squads might not get the weapons back?
-
I was told that it's been suggested before but was never implemented... it's probably been overlooked by mistake.
I've also been told we can stop the unarmed Conscripts from charging in like idiots, that'll most likely be implemented as well.
Unfortunately, Dragon is off doing exams so we can't do much coding atm. Never mind, there's still plenty of other crap for the rest of us to be doing :P

Speaking of the conscripts, there's an awesome molotov cocktail skin here... http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?254870-Tiger-Ace-Reward-Unit-Molotov-Cocktail-Stuka-Siren-more.-Updated-Nov.-18 (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?254870-Tiger-Ace-Reward-Unit-Molotov-Cocktail-Stuka-Siren-more.-Updated-Nov.-18)

The funny thing is that some people seem to think of "molotov cocktail" as of a bottle of vodka with burning tissue, tied to it. ::)
-
Well, from what's i've read, a Molotov Cocktail is a glass bottle of a flammable liquid, such as alcohol or gasoline, with some kind of fabric, like a rag or something, sticking out the neck, which is then lite on fire. Is that correct?

Not quite. For better understanding, try making one yourself (that with vodka, I mean).
-
Don't tell him that.... He be complaining that hes house caught on fire...
-
AAAHHHH!!! HELP ME! MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE!
Next time i'll just drink the vodka...
-

I actually suggested it January 24th.. of 2010 (http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=2079.msg21936#msg21936), and I know it's been suggested several times since.
So yeah, it was really that long ago. ;)
-
Oh, well i'm sorry if i stole your thunder, so to speak. If i had known it had been suggested before, i wouldn't have suggested it. So, erm... Why has this not been implemented yet?

Nah it's good to bring it up every now and then, at least I think so.
Everybody likes it, yet it isn't being used yet. I assumed the Devs either missed it, forgot it, or it simply wasn't a priority.
-
Well, i think it's a pretty big priority! Not only is it more realistic, i assume it would make things less stressful for Soviet players...
