As far as I know it was never possible to put deployable weapons in trenches?

Hm, maybe I played too much Blitzkrieg?

Still, Zis Truck doesn't heal recrewed weponry - I've tried toggling it off and on - no heal.

Zis Truck doesn't heal recrewed weponry... bug.
Heavy weapons can't use trenches... not bug, it has been like that since the trenches were implemented in OF.

IMO MG42 in a trench would be SO OP.

I had my captured pak's team healed with ZiS once. Maybe the guy forgot to lock it down?

I think by "toggling it on and off" he meant locking it down.
