hey guys! First off I love the mod (Best mod to happen to CoH!) and I am very excited about the new version. however, when trying to update it through the mod launcher, it "gathers information" for a minute or two and then crashes. it triggered my Visual Studio Just-In-Time debugger the last time it crashed, and the debugger said it had hit a breakpoint in the code. I really don't have a problem with it not updating through the launcher as I can download the update through Moddb, but it also crashes before the play button appears so I wouldn't be able to play it if I did!
cheers,
Acegard

Can you post EF_launcher.log from your CoH Dir?
-
Well I took a look at the log file myself and the error message was: "could not connect to remote server." Now I'm kicking myself, because I had forgot to reset my proxy settings after getting home from school. It's now working just fine. However, as a suggestion, instead of letting the launcher crash if this happens, an error dialog would be nice. ;)
thanks!

This sound similar to some crashes I had with the launcher yesterday. I'm assuming that was because it couldn't access the server and crashed in the same way acegard just described. I don't have those logs because I've updated since then, but it sounds like a similar thing.

Well do check your proxy settings just in case and try downloading it from Moddb with different browsers if necessary (sometimes this helps for me).

Did you run the launcher with admin rights?
You can download the full installer (http://www.moddb.com/mods/coheastern-front/downloads/eastern-front-130-full) and then download the patches manually (http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=2533.0) if you like.

ah crap download saild that it had finished affter downloading only 18mb i tryed to run it and it says NSIS Error :(
-
NSIS error usually means that the installer package is corrupted. The install package is not 18 MB so you didn't download all of it, so that will trigger a corrupted install anyway because all the information it needs isn't there. I would check your network (powercycle your modem/router), update your firewall and make sure the EF launcher and your browser is allowed through.

The size of the 1.30 full installer is 777MB. If you download something with smaller size is corrupted/incompleted. You should uninstall 1.20 before installing 1.30.
