Title: Maps Are not saveing correctly
Post by: Seeme on February 09, 2011, 01:54:47 AM
Hello Mapping People! As the title says, my maps are not saving, with means I can't upgrade my old maps or make new ones. This is tormenting because basically put lots of my time n these maps, and I would wish to share them later this mouth or two.

Hes a Screen-Shot.

you have Win Vista or Win7? I guess it's up to your administrator permits, but not sure. I still have WinXP  :D

well, the file is ReadOnly - that means you can open it, but can't modify it in any way. I'm not too used with Win7, but I think if you click with right mouse button this icon which is your map in 'C:\Users\blablabla\MP\' you should have possibility to change file's type from Read Only to something. Blackbishop could help a lot of here I guess.

Try to run worldbuilder like this:
Right-click over worldbuilder, choose run as admin.

If you want to check about reading-writing stuff, go to SGB file's properties->General Tab->Uncheck read-only. If the property doesn't seem to change, go to the address bar of the explorer window where you have worldbuilder.exe and type cmd and press enter.

then type attrib and press enter; check worldbuilder entry.

To add an attribute:

attrib filename +someattribute

To remove an attrib:

attrib filename -someattribute

where someattribute could be:
r = read-only
a = archive
s = system
h = hidden

where filename is the fullname of a file:
worldbuilder.exe

you can use more than one attrib:
attrib filename +r -s
attrib filename +r +s
attrib filename -r -s +a
attrib filename -r -s +a +h

Perhaps i went too far :-\.
