Eastern Front fans,
I am making an espionage action film as my final-year project at college.
There is a scene which demonstrates the worldwide effects of an event. It essentially shows generic TV news footage accompanied by newsreaders speaking in a variety of world languages and accents.
You are generally an enthusiastic and involved lot, so I thought here might be a place to ask. Is anybody up for it?
-
Myself as a moviemaker know how hard it can be to find people for scenes and such. Thats why I be honoured to take part in your project as the voice for a Swedish news reporter ^^
-
So we would need a camera and microphone, along with a desk and a nice suit, and perhaps a greenscreen? ...Anything else?
-
Not at all, all you need is a microphone and a voice ;)
Thanks for offering Sommarkatze, I already have a Swedish voice but I suppose another one wouldn't be any harm =)
-
O.K., that's cool. I know a Latvian, perhaps i could ask him?
-
I can take part as a german reporter if you search one
-
Need a Polish? ;D Im' in, as far you need me!
-
Polish, Latvian, German. All perfect, since the event actually takes place in Poland =) Thanks very much!
-
I'm the Latvian Pariah mentioned, and I'll be happy to help ;D
-
FUCK YEAH! Welcome to Eastern Front, Herbis! ;D ;D ;D
-

Just glad to help another filmmaker ^^
-

-
Don't know if i can help you, but i only have spanish-mexican accent xD.
-
My Accent is Russian, but over the years I kinda lost that accent, so now I just sound plain weird. I can make my own language ;D
-
seemish?
-
Native language of Seemland? :D
-
I can speak native russian, english with funny russian accent :), english with mild russian/german accent (they say, those are hard to differ), a rather poor german (since I haven't been practicing for ages), puny (next to none) french. I also speak a bit of ukrainian (mediocre skill).
-
Ah, but can you speak Seemish? ;D
-
sounds like sneezing :"seeeeeeeeemish" ;D
-
Thanks for the responses! Could everybody interested please PM me with your full name and language so I can arrange your scripts and put you in the credits list?
-
It's finished now! Thanks for the help. I couldn't include all your voices but I tried to credit as many of you as I could anyway.

Nice! Thanks, mate!
Expertly done film, there. Planning to make any more?
-
Well, this one took me half a year to make, so I don't expect anything of this calibre for a while. I will definitely be doing smaller projects, and next year I'm doing a Digital Effects course at university, so I do plan to do this pretty much for the rest of my life ;)
-
OMG! That's awesome! I wish I could contribute to your work, but well, I'm too late :P
Great work, I detect talent there WartyX !! :D
-
Awesome! As a moviemaker myself I know what a job there is to make a movie like this so really good job ! :D
-
In the second part someone wearing a german-bundeswehr overall 8) (at 3.50)
good movie ;)
-
Great piece of art, WartyX. Hats off! :D

Yeah haha, we used that jacket quite a lot actually. We did have a limited budget ;)
-
May I ask how much does the production of the film has cost? :-X
-
It cost about £100 (€113/$161) for props. The rest of the props were borrowed from friends.
Beer and food to keep us content during the long hard hours of editing was about £120.
So overall it was about £220.
However I also bought a new camera costing £2,300 but that doesn't really count, because I will be using it on other projects for 5-10 years.
-
Spending over 2000 pounds on a camera, i would hope to be using it for more than a decade! :o
-
Camera technology is moving very fast! I bought a camera 5 years ago and it was already outdated in 2 years, because it was just before HD started becoming cheap. I was thinking 10 years was optimistic ;)
-
Yeah, but the quality was excellent, especially for an indie film. Unless that camera breaks, i see no reason for you to need to buy another 1. Unless you plan on getting into this "3-D" bullshit, but i'm sure you're better than that... ;)
-
Haha, it's enough work using just two dimensions!
-
3D is no bullshit ;D I love 3D ;D
And WartyX: It is amazing. I would be happy when i could make such a movie xD I wish u a lot of fun with the new camera and the new projects!
