Title: auto patching
Post by: lachi457 on March 24, 2011, 06:55:26 PM
hey,first of all i´m from germany so my english isn´t so good.i have got a strange problem.i can install the game,patch it normally and can play(by the way it´s awesome!:)).a few days later:if the launcher tries to check for patches there is always the error:"eastern front mod does not apear to be installed on your system.try reinstalling eastern front mod to continue."
but i can play and the day before the auto patch was working.-_-
i tried to reinstall a few times but it´s always the same.
does someone know a solution?

I have read some posts about users having that problem, but i don't know how to cope with it, besides suggesting uninstalling and reinstalling EF OR creating a direct shorcut for EF (http://).

I myself have never got this bug before, perhaps some file is corrupted.

You can try to check in your registry to see if Eastern Front registry is there:

Open regedit(start menu->run->regedit) then look for this path:

If you have 32 bits OS -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Eastern Front

If you have 64 bits OS aka x64 -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Eastern Front\

Right click the folder and export it. Compress it as zip and please upload it here.

thank you for this fast answer.
i checked the registry and there isn´t any folder for eastern front.it may be deleted by restart the pc.
is there any possibility to copy it without reinstall?
i use windows 7 wit 64 bit.

If you don't have that registry, you can use the one i uploaded in this post.
