Post by: xxredmaxx on March 31, 2011, 08:07:54 AM

Could you post a screenshot of your coh directory??

D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes

Usually this error is shown because you didn't installed ef in the correct path, are you sure you have in that directory all the steam's stuff and not in program files\steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes??

Looks like everything is right... I mean, if you have all the files in that path, and also you checked Launcher's Menu->Settings->CoH Directory and the path was the correct one i can't only suggest to create a shorcut to see if it works...

How to create an Eastern Front shorcut (http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=5312.0)

Did you install 1.30->1.301->1.302->1.310 or installed 1.30 over an older EF version?

I couldn't find RelicCoH.exe?
:/
??? ??? ???
press "windows" key (the one with windows emblem on it, it situated on your keyboard - the rectangular (or  roughly that) piece of plastic with a lot of buttons with various signs, depicting letters, numbers, etc. (you can also find it if you follow one of the wires, that are plugged into the system block of you PC), and simultaneously (or very-very fast) press "F" key (it's on the same "keyboard". In the window, that'll appear soon after type (using that very "keyboard" thing): RelicCoH.exe, than press the "Enter" button (usually has this word, written on it). Wait, wait, wait, wait a while more. There you go!

P.S.: just kidding - I don't think you're dumb or something, it's just a joke.  ;D ;D ;D
Anyway, just use the "search" option. It's available in "start" menu as well.

In the properties of EF_launcher.exe shortcut you're using to start a game (right click on it, choose properties - left click on the pop-up menu option) chose "find object" - it will open CoH main directory. The RelicCoH.exe must be there without any doubt.

No, that search won't help, you will find files from windows or users directory. You need to go to CoH directory and write it there or looking by yourself it hasn't too much files with that name anyways.

Search it as RelicCoH(it's description should recognize it as application), as most users have disabled the "show extensions" feature.

This is the .exe....Didnt get the other part? :/
C:\"C:\"D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCOH.exe"
Sorry for being a pain...You guys won't remember me ;) But I cycled 3 miles to get to an internet connection and a copy of the mod on launch date as ours was out....

If this is your current shorcut:

C:\"C:\"D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCOH.exe"

is incorrect, this should be the correct one:

"D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev -mod Eastern_Front -nomovies

You can check our shorcut topic if you want to add an extra parameter, but that's all the necessary stuff to run EF.

EDIT

Did you included the quotes on the shorcut? Could you paste your shorcut again?

At least you should upload a screenshot of your coh directory ::), otherwise we are only walking in circles.

I don't understand this directory:/ Why is there all this hassle D: I just wanna kill some things in my IS :(
Title: Re: *play* "Mod is up to date"

Just create a new shorcut (Right click on desktop->New->Shorcut) and copy this:

"D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev -mod Eastern_Front -nomovies

and paste it on the shorcut's path and should run, it's easy. I Don't know why you have so many problems making a shorcut for CoH ???. If that's the right path you won't have any problem.

If you continue experiencing any problem please post it(them) here.

Are you serious???? Your CoH Directory should be "D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\" otherwise why were you calling CoH from that place? ::)...

I don't see neither Eastern_Front.module nor EF_Launcher, are you sure you have installed EF on "D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\" and not in "C:\Program Files\THQ\company of heroes\"??

Are you sure you didn't uninstall EF??

Did you use the installer from ModDB?

I just created a separate folder inside CoH directory named "mods" to keep track of everything :)

Sigh, in the end the error was that.

You need to install EF in CoH folder, not in any other self-created folder. Same rule for all CoH mods.
