I have downloaded COH EF twice and the first time my launcher did nothing. Now my launcher tells me the game is up to date when i hit the play button. What do I need to fix?
Sincerely

What's your CoH path?
This error is shown if you install Eastern Front on a different path instead of CoH directory, e.g.:
Correct path:
C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Company of Heroes\
Any folder where Company of Heroes files are located could be consider as correct. Incorrect ones:
C:\THQ\
C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\EF
If you install EF in a path different than Company of Heroes directory, or if you don't have installed it and you're only trying to run EF, you will get an error.
-
I have the launcher installed on C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes and it still says game is up to date when I hit play
-
Could you post a screenshot of your coh directory?
Could you check if your launcher has the correct path associated?
Run EF Launcher ->Go to Settings -> Check CoH Directory value.
-
try creating a shortcut to bypass the launcher
-
I cant figure out how to put a screenshot in this post but the game is installed on c:\\program files\thq\company of heroes.
and when i hit the settings button its the same as above.
-
upload it using additional options->attach

My screenshot is bmp, so its not an allowed file.

I'll quote myself about it.

Perhaps i wasn't clear enough, but i was talking about CoH. If you don't have installed CoH and try to run EF you will get an error because EF uses CoH files.
You need to install CoH in order to play EF.
-
I installed it on both of my coh directories. One is on my c drive, the is on an external hard drive. I have COH OP on the external hardrive but it still wont let me play. Do i have to have the original COH to run the mod? if so that's probably what's wrong.
-
You need to install EF in the same path where RelicCoH (CoH main executable file) is located.
-
No, it needs to be installed there.

I think i might have finally found where it needs to be installed. I will try installing it there and see if it works.

OK I have finally decided that I am going to reinstall me COH game and try to install the mod again. I think that my problem was I had the game installed where i couldn't install the mod so i hope it will work this time.

make sure your setting will actually work on your PC because i was playing around with them and if its not compatible the launcher will just crash :o
-
well i got it installed and i set up a game but when the button on the loading screen, that says press any button, an error box pops up saying not enough space for report. what do i need to do?
-
I got an "Unable to create report. Please verify there's enough space in your TEMP folder" error message or Eastern Front just freezes and the sound effects loops and I have to restart my PC.
This is a problem you'll likely only find in 32 bit OS.
You can try the following:
- Use lower graphics settings.
- Increase your PC's virtual memory (http://www.delete-computer-history.com/increase-virtual-memory.html).
- Close all background programs you don't need before playing, eg. Web Browsers, Windows Explorer instances.
- Download, install & use Game Booster (http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html) before playing EF.
- You can create a shorcut to run EF instead of EF launcher, some users have claimed this helped to improve their performance. Check this topic for help: How to create an Eastern Front shorcut (http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=5312.0).
Try to have at least 3GB to 4GB in your pc, remember that Eastern Front uses more resources than Tales of Valor which uses more resources than the previous games(Original Company of Heroes and Opposing Fronts). If the problem persists, you should consider migrating to a 64 bits OS.
-
ok ill try those things.
