Hey guys!
At the moment i try to find data about the strength of the red army for the 1st January 1936.
I search for divisions and other formations which were formed and active before 1936.
It is my aim to be able to reconstruct the red army. My problem is that i cant read russian so i would be happy about english materials or translated stuff to reconstruct the OOB for the 1st January 1936.
Thank u very much for any information u have ^^
-
hmm... I'm not sure, but 1st January... you are making HoI scenario?
-
Jupp ;)
But i cant finish USSR and italian airforce xD Both parts are missing because of lack on information.
-
HoI scenario spotted! ;D ;D
Could we try it once finished? :D
About OOB, did you ask at Paradox forum, in the modding section? There is plenty of mod that rearrange the soviet OOB (along with others). I'm very busy now, but I will try to find out one or two mod that rearrange the soviet OOB.
Don't know where you can find data about that on internet though ???
Will try to search something too.
-
Well. U will be able to try it when u have HoI darkest hour and the trp mod ;) But our next trp version will need some time.
About the OOB: Well. There are information at the p'dox board but most of them conflicting each other or they are in russian language ;)
Its heavy to find good data for an red army OOB around 1936.
Okay. So. No more discussion here please ;) I asked for help and information and wont start a topic about HoI.

All that documental information is on russian language ... do you ready??
... Or you can try to search "Weastern True Sources."
-
Well. I trust russian documents about their army (why should they lie about the strength of the red army of 1936? xD) ;) My problem is that i cant read russian language xD
All information i can get are helpful.

Mister,for things about Italian Airforce ask me without any problem;anyway, good luck for the HoI scenario!!

@Sturmovik: I wait for your input ;)
@Ettore Muti: U have a PN ;)
About my question: Well. I already got a lot of datas.
In all this data i found some "artillery divisions" of the red army.
My question is: Someone had formation data (like: how many soldiers, how many guns, what kind of guns, how much regiments or batteries or companies and all this stuff) about this kind of divisions?

!939 is a start...http://ww2total.com/WW2/History/Orders-of-Battle/Russia/Red-Army-1939.htm (http://ww2total.com/WW2/History/Orders-of-Battle/Russia/Red-Army-1939.htm)
Though considering the purges and continued increases it won't be exactly what it was in 1936.
"Recently declassified data indicate that in 1937, at the height of the Purges, the Red Army had 114,300 officers, of whom 11,034 were dismissed. In 1938, the Red Army had 179,000 officers, 56% more than in 1937, of whom a further 6,742 were sacked. In the highest echelons of the Red Army the Purges removed 3 of 5 marshals, 13 of 15 army generals, 8 of 9 admirals, 50 of 57 army corps generals, 154 out of 186 division generals, 16 of 16 army commissars, and 25 of 28 army corps commissars."

In 1936 they turned some territorial units to active duty units raising the Red Army to 1.3 million. After this about 3 quarters of units were full time, and 1 quarter were territorial. Also they had about 600,000 draftees a year. So maybe factor that in when looking at the 1939 numbers.
"By 1935 the Red Army had grown to 1,300,000 men. The Soviet Union also had 10,000 tanks and 5,000 front-line planes."
"On the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939 the Red Army had an estimated 1,800,000 men in its ranks, of whom one fourth were stationed in the Far East."
