What are the proper care and feeding instructions for the Funkwagon?
I haven't a clue on its proper uses.
-
Half a liter of fuel a day and plenty of oil. :P
Put it in an enemy territory. The deeper you go the better. It will draw a line back to the nearest of YOUR connected territories, and drains some of the resources of every enemy sector through that line. It's cloaked now so it's easier to do. The infantry spotting on the minimap is extremely useful if you have hummels and pretty useful anyway. I don't think it matters what territory you put it in for the population drain. A certain amount of population will always be removed from their pop cap. This is its most powerful aspect during team games where population is actually an important factor.

Thanks mate. That sucker has been annoying me for a long while.

I heavy read, but explains it all

It also "cuts" the territory.

I have read that and tried it out, but for me it only takes resources from the 1 territory I put it in. I've put it in different territories too; same thing.
-
You only get resources from the territory you put it in, it removes enemy resources from more however.

Tovarich. a most helpful link. Thank you! Does anyone know if the Funkwagon's resource denial ability is based upon a straight line path through enemy resources from the unit to one's GHQ/T0? Or does it operate on a path like the retreat to base function?
-
whatever enemy territory(supply line) is connected/runs through the sector the funkwagen is deployed in is denied resources.
So if you set it up in the first resource point the enemy capped at the start of the game every point that they capped after that, that also runs through that sector is effected. so hard to explain in words :-\
-
No many people know the real strength of this vehicle. That's kinda people forget the Logistik Kompanie is a building which is kinda scorched earth non doctrial. Scoutcars cap & lock down, ammo halftracks place mines on roads and vampires can destroy bridges with their goliaths. Very powerful.
-
Whenever i use the vamp halftrack it is never for resource stealing.
i generally go as scorched earth or tank destroyer so i use the vamp for recon.
i always lock down in an area that the enemy wouldnot normally wallk through clost to their base so that i can find the normal routes taken by the opponents troops.
If scortched earth i use this to drop flame traps and mines along the most likely areas of encounter that i am aware of.
If tank destroyer i use the tank awareness to see the tanks and anti-tank guns that my opponent may have.

Vampires are awesome! I think I might just start playing PE ;D

you and everyone else after 2.602 was released :P
-
When i play on my fav map (Vire River Valley) i use its goliath drop to destroy bridges that are being overrun. it has more armor than a goliath so you dont have to waste a goliath trying to get it to a bridge w/o being destroyed

ewww :o
-
Lol ewww? which part?
-
The vire/blowing up bridges part.
-
Hee hee, Bridge camp maps... Though it really depends since the bridges do work both ways...
-
Well its not like bridges cant be rebuilt plus it would slow up an enemy assault especially if you destroy half their force in the process
-
I hate to admit this but when it comes to camping you really cant beat the Germans, they spam Walking Stukas on the chokepoints and its just hell...
-
Just got done playing my first match where I had the Funks camo ability I have to say its a huge improvement and its detection ability is pretty sweet too.
-

Bridges can be repaired.
And bridge camp maps on annihilate (Oh, let me guess, no pop cap and high resources? ::)) do not constitute for balance. Those are the games of "Who can stand the arty the longest" and are pretty separated from normal VP style of gameplay. You sit behind a line of impenetrable defenses building up a super army and then attempt to rush your enemy into destruction... (Which axis wins with late game vetted Panthers and Tigers)
That's not how normal gameplay works.
-
Sorry I havent even tried No Popcap yet but yes I do normally use High resources. I do try to post up as best I can (not always but it works best for me). Lol I just dont feel comfortable unless my opponent is completely cut off from my territory ;D. As long as Im takin care of that my partner can focus on mounting an offensive while I support however I can. Most people dont like to play like that but I do.
-
Welcome the harsh world, Mon Ami :)
Against Bots that works fine but against people... (you arse would get blown sky high)
-
Most people consider bridge map games to be noob games. They have less skill involved and little of the meta game comes into it.
-
+1 to last comment :P
-
Lol I dont get a chance very often to play against people, I wish I could. My access to good enough Internet is extremely limited. Believe it or not they dont offer good net to everybody.
-
and you can post on EF forums still?????????? :)
Just how bad is your internet anyway?
-

Well that said you can still play against experts VP on Langres for training...it'll help you get prepared when you eventually do get better net so you'll be ready to automatch :)

I sympathize with you. I normally only get 2 kbs bandwidth at home myself.

Crappy 1mb DSL >:(. Ill be moving somewhere with better Net before too long. I often feel like i live in a 3rd world country.
-
1MB net and you're complaining? That's average here in Australia (which basically does have 3rd world net for a 1st world country). People can play online fine with far slower net than that. I had 512kbps a few years ago and it was perfectly fine. Maybe if you have wireless net I sympathise. It's too unstable.
-
I have a crappy modem(bad wireless signal+lose connection from time to time) + wireless connection and 1MB as well, i beat you :).

Actually im goin +1 here cuz thats exactly whats up with my net :P
-
Well after 2 hours of no internet service for reasons I have no comprehension of... :(
How close do observers need to be to see a Funkwagen or Goliath?

Lol i went 3 days once without net bc my modem is busted or old or something
anyway idk the incremental distance but about 1.5- 2 churchill lengths for the vamp and they have to be pretty close to spot a goliath. sorry if my vamp distance is off im terrible with that kind of stuff
-
people used to game off dial up. So deal with it.

Red Alert 2 >:)

That was an awesome game back then ;D
-
It was really strange. and wacky but funny
Floating disk, magnetron and Mastermind rush :P

Used to? I still am tied to dial-up at home.
The Funk seems to be faster and more resiliant to damage then other PE HTs. Is this actually the case.
-
Vampires have less health and more acceleration than an IHT.
-
Thanks mate. Your encyclopedic knowledge of the game is really godlike.
-
To be honest I had to look that one up lol. It was a bit out there.
