Iam currently out on the country were internet was like invented yesterday. So I dont really have the time to google my question ( its really slow out here by some weird reason.) so I turn myself to the beloved EF forum! ^^
In battlefield Bad company 2 : Vietnam the NVA can get their hands on some soviets tanks. t54 I believe? I could be wrong , I really suck balls when its comes to easterneurope tanks ^^ However those tanks have an mg34 turret upp on top of the turret. Now to the question.
Were these babies equipped with mg34s? If they were was it because the russians had captured a lot of them during ww2 and now put them on tanks because it was cheaper that way?
Or is this just something Battlefield have made up? They have for example in battlefield 1943 ( the console exclusive one) the japanese cars are armed with 30.cals .
This thread feels a little bit like a waste for that simple little question so I decided to make it a thread were everybody can ask questions about the Vietnam war :D

Pretty much. No idea if they mounted them on Tanks, but the Soviets most definitely supplied the NVA with captured weapons.

When the NVA have T-54, the NVA inf at that time also was fully armed with AKs, PKM mg, RPD mgs, tube-version-RPG B40/41, and C4. So there is no way a T-54 have the MG-34. That will make it become a nightmare of logistic! And yes, the NVA excellent at logistic so hell no >:( (if you think they dont/didnt, there is a thread about NVA's logistic on wiki).

I did know the NVA were equppied with a lot of captured weapons. I have even seen pictures where the NVA have been equipped with german helmets XD
The question was about the tank mount. Thanks for the ansvers! ;D

The NVA used WW2 German weapons like MP40, Stg44, Mg42, etc. The Mg42 also outperformed the M60 in combat. I bet everyone knew that :(

Yeah, but its always good to tell it twice ^^
Do anybody know however if the NVA were issued with german ww2 anti tank weapons such as panzerfausts and panzerschreks? I have hard times believing that but hey, you never know :D

I only know that they use a less-complicated RPG that look alike panzerfaust. It sacrifices AT penetration for more explosion and easier to produce, its role actually very like panzerfaust.

Thats right. The famous RPG ;D Hmm now when you say it I remeber that the RPG actually is based of the late rare panzerfaust 250 prototypes. Geeh, nerdy stuff is fun ;D
